Unlikely fan?

Wouldn't have had Duff McKagan (ex Guns n Roses) down as a Sisters fan, or less still a NMA follower, but here you go.

Appreciate its another minor mention at best, but his column is a surprisingly good read each week. He comes across as a good guy, pretty intelligent as well.

And he was the young Mothra's favourite member of GnR. :)

It was an up to date picture of The Sisters :D

Young GC's favourite was Adler ( I was a bit of a twit in them days)

On a similar note whilst reading the Motley Crue autobiog I kind of remember one of the bandmates describing Tommy Lee going through a Sisters of Mercy phase.

I can add Mark Thomas to that.

I went to one of his gigs a few months ago where the deal was to create a kind of democratic public charter of things that would make England / your life better. The first half of the show was him running through some of the previous submissions from the audience (serious and funny) the second half was were the audience submitted there own on a card and he would read out the ones he thought were good.

Anyway I put:

1. Free university education
2. ? (it's escaped me sorry, but it was along the same lines)
3. A new Sisters of Mercy album

When he came back he said before he read out the ones he had chosen he had to just read this one out cause he wanted to marry the author (or words to that effect) and read them 1..2.. yeah, yeah all good 3..."Brilliant". My friend was rather drunk and pointed me out and Mark said (again words to the effect of) " A new Sisters album I love you".

Probably not explained it very well but it was obvious he was a fan.

Could be the same Guns guy as I don't know his name. But am pretty sure in one of their videos the drummer is wearing a 1991 Sisters shirt....

Well, Kirk Hammet of Metallica wore a Sisters shirt in one of their black album videos. Nothing Else Matters I think. Significant part of me becoming Sisters aware as it were.

Don't know about Hammet or McKagan being exactly 'unlikely' fans, tho.

ps. Abridged, the Guns of the article was a basist.

Matt Sorum, Steven Adler's replacement, used to wear one IIRC ... er, I mean a friend told me. :innocent:

I've heard Duff and Slash interviewed (separately) on Planet Rock and the pair of them come across as well rounded human beanz, something I didn't expect.
I'm sure WAxyl's a COCK! of the highest order tho.

T'was Nikki I think. The Dirt is one of the best and worst books I've read.

I've seen that picture pop up in a few places over the last year or so. It appeared on some listings website when the Sisters played Barcelona last year. If you do a Google images search for "Sisters of Mercy", it'll come up as one of the results. Lord knows how all this started. They look a right bunch of cocks, whoever they are!
