My above post was negative because I'd heard so much about the fillum that I was expecting something in the ilk of 'Bloody Kids', 'Scum', Made in England' maybe even 'A Clockwork Orange' but it turned out to be a dull cinema verite with dismal characters that I just could not relate to, or feel any empathy for.
Natch' I avoided this telly follow-up.

Thought last night was ok, some of it quite funny (the Yamaha FS1E gang in particular). Will continue to watch to see how the story unfolds.

Hallelluja, it was terrible. Over the top 'real life' acting. Dead Mans Shoes is a modern classic. Fact.
However, I agree with the points made about the first episode of the TV adaptation. It's written by Shane Meadows AND somebody else. It's not directed by him.
It seemed liked they had looked at where the film had finished and desperately thought of funny scenarios to create. It wasn't really funny or innovative and only proved the point that TV adaptations don't really work.
* He knows his music though. Fact.
