Tuesday night on C4.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this as well, I loved This is England & had know last year about this mini series as a continuation of the story.
Should be good.
I'm not sure if they filmed it in Nottingham or not though, will have to look into it.

Just got a message from my mate in UK and he says it is better than the movie.

I wouldn't say it was better than the film. I enjoyed it, but it felt a bit like a Christmas special

My above post was negative because I'd heard so much about the fillum that I was expecting something in the ilk of 'Bloody Kids', 'Scum', Made in England' maybe even 'A Clockwork Orange' but it turned out to be a dull cinema verite with dismal characters that I just could not relate to, or feel any empathy for.
Natch' I avoided this telly follow-up.

Thought last night was ok, some of it quite funny (the Yamaha FS1E gang in particular). Will continue to watch to see how the story unfolds.

Hallelluja, it was terrible. Over the top 'real life' acting. Unbelievable characters, s**t story and s**t ending.
On the other hand Dead Man's Shoes was quite good. (always nice to end a rant on a positive note
)

That bit had me in stitches - wonder how they managed to find so many 'fizzies'
To be honest though, I thought the 'fizzie' heyday was earlier than '86 though.
The Nottingham/Leicstoh twang still makes me cringe mind you

Of course, Mr. Blast is wrong on the subject of filums again *.
Dead Mans Shoes is a modern classic. Fact.
However, I agree with the points made about the first episode of the TV adaptation. It's written by Shane Meadows AND somebody else. It's not directed by him.
It seemed liked they had looked at where the film had finished and desperately thought of funny scenarios to create. It wasn't really funny or innovative and only proved the point that TV adaptations don't really work.
*
He knows his music though. Fact.
