Your help is wanted for an article I'm doing for UNSCENE Mag

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

For the April '11 Issue I intend to do an article covering the Sisters 30 year career, the 30th anniversary Gigs + peoples memories ; GOOD and BAD !!!

If anyone has a spare 5 minutes or so and could pm me the answers to the following questions I would be grateful ....

Your Age ;

Is this the one that got stained with local wine?

Sorry CyberAndy I can't help you, the only exact answer to your questions that I can give is that I'm currently 34 years, 1 month, 1 day and 5 hours old, as for the rest it's either impossible to remember or impossible to choose. :? :)

Floodland
20 ish??
Current lineup
Leamington 2010, Berlin 2009, Budapest 2006
Manchester academy 2000, London Astoria 2006
UBG or sisters reptile

8)

Memories? Hmmm, a few... In no particular order: I proposed to mrs qb after the Paris 2006 gig (8)). Mr catalyst is a proper sound fella and the band would be a far weaker force without him. Never to busy to help or get involved with 'the fans', however odd or annoying they may be. Nurse is lovely. Von is one of the few 'famous' people i've ever been around that render me a gibbering wreck. Gary Marx is one of the nicest & most unassuming people I've ever met (and he drinks black coffee, 1 sugar), and the sisters are much better now they're over the ghost of Adam ;)

Contacts?  Couldn't possibly comment.

40 years of age.

Top 5 (could change tomorrow):
- Ribbons
- Body Electric (84 version)
- Alice
- Some Kind Of Stranger
- Never Land (the full lenght version)

Album: First, Last, Always (as The Reptile House does not count as an album).

Saw them 15 times.

Line up: A. Eldritch, A. Bruhn, T. Bricheno, T. James, Dr. A.

Best gig: Pukkelpop 1992

Worst: Pukkelpop 2001

Best Tee: Shut.The.f**k.Up

Memories: Nice talks with The Catalyst and Christo at several gigs. Christo who gave me an Eldritch signed setlist of Cologne 2006 and had my Postcards From Above The Chemist book signed by Eldo in Wiesbaden 2009.
In Cologne 2006 the whole crew including Simon, Ben and Chris were sitting outside in the sunny afternoon; very relaxed. No Eldo. Suddenly the good doc. started making sound and everybody rushed in. The boss' sign to start a soundcheck.

Best Tee-Shirt ; Jesus loves the Sisters

If you have any memories of meeting the Band etc. you would like to share

Met Ben after the Berlin concert 2006, it was quite cold and he stood alone there wating and waiting for a fan to arrive who wanted to have the setlist. Hope somebody turned up! He's too nice for his own good.

Chris after the Stockholm gig, I just waved and thanked him for the concert (well, anyway..) and didn't expect any response at all as he was sitting there in a bar with the tour crew, but he stood up and shook my hand and said "Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it".

Their merch guy is very nice and always prepared to have a chat instead of selling T-shirts!

Favourite Sisters Line-Up ; Current - Love Chris & Ben!
Favourite Gigs ; Birmingham 92, Tienen 08, Amsterdam 09
Worst Gigs: London 97 (prob more my fault than the band though!) Incidentally, notice a high quota for London 06... I paid 100 sterling from a tout outside to get in which left me no money for the rest of my trip - I had a great time! Again, that may be more me than the band... he he!)
Best Tee-Shirt: Love the merchanise 09, but can't beat a classic Merciful release logo

Random memories - being forceable hiked out against my wishes by the bouncers at reading, & in 09 seeing what I'm sure was Eldritch, Chris & Nurse walking around the Reeperbauhn before the Hamburg gig & bumping into Ben on the train travelling from gig to gig in germany...
