OI! FOOKIN' HELL!
I now have to rip my ears off and cauterize those parts of my brain associated with hearing with boiling pitch in order to avoid ever hearing this mawkish cr@p ever again. I'm sure Ms Birch is a splendidly talented songstress but she should stick to doing covers of Justin Bieber before she meets a posse of black-leather-clad masses in a back alley somewhere who impress upon her the need to adjust her attitude, perhaps by means of a large stick and an impromptu vocal-cordectomy using the rusty lid of an old bean tin.
I'm not advocating violence, incidentally - just saying that it might happen. Hell, W was elected twice - stranger things have happened.

Things like that should carry public health warnings. At least with cigarettes your long lingering death will come eventually - with this death is by no means assured, and your suffering could be eternal.

This is so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The handclaps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just made my night, thank you.
On the other hand, the Bunnymen and Siouxsie covers are so absolutely dreadful that aren't even funny
I almost didnt dare to open cause you all scared me so much, but then curiosity won.
It's not nearly as disturbing as I was expecting. The worst thing I ever heard, Sisters covers wise, sounded as if a chipmunk on speed had gotten hold of a cheap synth... what was their name... Bagel of Filth or something ... (runs and hides)

I think you'll find that the name of the band is actually Cradle of Milf.Sita wrote:

1) it not that bad, i've heard lot more worst especially by all this we-are-goth-as-f**k;
2) lets face it, original isn't that great, i think i understand meaning of all this bombastic, glitter and pompous music but it's: a) damn boring, b) bad taste.

...at least the worst one comes with an entertaining component that's why it better than some average stuff

I quite liked it. But, to be honest, I'm going to be favorably disposed toward any TSOM cover that isn't either a) trying horribly to imitate them or b) made by a bunch of pasty-face goths or c) made by bands who play pointy guitars (the notable exception to all of this is the Foetus cover. I love his stuff, but I thought he phoned it in).

What the hell are you listening to? She does a faithful cover version of the song. And it's f**king good and I'm someone who has seen that band live more times than you have fingers and toes.
Or, would you prefer no cover songs ever? That no one gets to pay tribute to the bands they love? It isn't like she did it to make tons of money. She worships the band like you do. You write to pay tribute to them and she sings. Not understanding your logic.
Unless.....you actually are Justin Bieber and you are jealous. Or you've been hit with a few too many of the "large sticks" you speak so menacingly about.

That's a fairly bold assertion - how do you know how many fingers and toes I have? And I have no problem with people covering Sisters songs - it would be a fairly silly thing to be averse to, given how much material the girls have covered themselves. Aiboforcen's cover of Alice, for example, or Lambchop's This Corrosion, are both fine things, as is Eldritch's rendition of Comfortably Numb or Jolene (and I've been to Dollywood more times than you have fingers and toes, of this I am quite certain). I've long believed that should release an album of covers, or possibly duets with the original artists - can I get an "amen" for Marc Almond and Eldritch doing Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go?microtony wrote:What the hell are you listening to? However, both Aiboforcen and Lambchop have released their own material, while Ms Birch appears to ride on the coattails of others more talented than herself.
For the record, I don't worship the Sisters (or indeed anything else), and pay tribute only when required to do so by laws governing things like taxation. I like their material, true, and this is why it pains me to to hear an artist do it no justice in the way in which I believe Ms Birch has done.
This is simply my opinion. And if you read my earlier post more carefully you'll see that I do not advocate violence in any way. However, violence is sadly part of our environment, and there are Sisters fans (none that we know, to be sure) that have a greater propensity to violence than I.
Welcome to the forum, incidentally - you'll find that there are all sorts of opinions around here, not all of them those that you would agree with (as Gandhi once remarked, opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one but there are very few that one would choose to spend any length of time with). Some of our politer members often introduce themselves with a cherry "Hello!" before diving into an existing thread, but that's just an observation.

I have now been hit by the long (and pointy) stick.
Sorry - I just don't like it.
I do like covers - I like Lambchops version very much but this just doesn't do it for me.
