how are people travelling from luxembourg (3rd march) to paris (5th march)?

we're considering doing those 2 gigs, and would ideally like to arrive in paris on the 4th so we can have a day there, but i haven't got the faintest idea how one would get from luxembourg to paris

what's everyone else doing?

The Lux gig is the 4th, not the 3rd

options to get from the Rockhal to Le Trianon: Train or car I guess.
I just had a quick look and with a 3hour train ride you should get from Esch sur Alzette to Paris (costs about 60 Euro for a one way ticket).
Or you could jump in a car with someone at some point...

I'm planning to go to both shows myself, but don't know just yet how to go about things. I'm thinking about driving to Luxembourg and sleeping there somewhere (in the car or cheap hotel or so) then in the morning off to Paris... Possibly riding along with Z, but nothing's sure yet.

Who else needs to get from Esch to Paris?

The train station Paris East is near the venue (1,5 km).

How much time away from Paris is Luxemburg?
I will be in Paris all these days , if Luxemburg is close perhaps i can make it in 2 gigs friday - saturday

right, so i now know how to get from luxembourg to paris

our (vague) plan so far is get to lux on thursday 3rd and have a night there before the gig, then the gig on the friday, then get the TGV to paris on saturday for the gig, and have a couple of days in paris and come back monday

so my next question: where are people staying in lux? and what about in paris?

I booked a triple at the Beiershaascht in Luxemburg and a four bed dorm at Le Regent in Paris, with Andrew and Koen.

I'm looking forward to all this. Paris Sisters gigs are hard to beat

Still curious if I'll manage to get to the Luxemburg one in time after work, but I'll try nevertheless

I'm in a Mercure hotel in Esch/Alzette and a "Hôtel de Bruxelles et du Nord" in Paris, both within walking distance from the venues and train stations.

s**t! Thanks! I had absolutely no time to read the opinions, just found a hotel near to the station and booked. So yes, chances are high that I'll be staying in a different one.

it is very close to the concert, walking distance, it is quiet ( with a very good view to Monmartre cemetary )

But I need something as close to the station (gare du nord) as possible, because I have a train at 5 AM from there the next morning. The one I chose was right next to the station.

we stayed there when we went over for the 2006 gig. it's really nice

Previous reservation now cancelled, but geez, it seems that it's really hard to find something which is both close to the station an relatively cheap (I'm not keen to pay too many euros for a place in which I only plan to take one quick shower and about 3 hours of sleep, given the fact that I'll already be rather broke after 3 weeks of travelling ). I hope I'll manage to find someplace without bed bugs, ffs I've never seen a bed bug in my life yet and I don't think I would like to.

Of course! And will spend the weekend after in Manchester, so any tips on that are still welcomed

Browsing some other hotels (AND opinions this time ), and I can't believe this but it seems to be a rule that whenever a hotel has only 2 stars, there is always somebody complaining about those bugs! I can't believe this, I actually had to google what they are, I'd thought it was a problem of some poverty districts of the wrong side of the tracks in the 19th century. I must admit it really scares me. I thought that a cheap hotel meant small room with basic equipment, no fridge or TV or soap in the bathroom, but FFS, big bugs that live in beds and suck human blood? Thank you again so much for making me know, iesus!

Perhaps try hostels instead? There are some real nice ones about these days!
