The De-Derailment Thread --or-- Place for: STUPID QUESTIONS

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

As I plug along, reading ya'll's posts,
I've found several times ya'll making reference
to things of which I've no knowledge.
Rather than derail your threads with silly naivety,
I thought I'd start a de-derailment thread
(aka: the thread that can't be derailed)
for asking Heartland 101 questions.

Ok, here goes:
Why do ya'll call him, "Von"?
What's "Deep Blue"?

Von is a nickname gave by Tony James (ex- Sigue Sigue Sputnik, TSOM - Vision Thing era - and Carbon/Sillicon) it was gave after AE moved to Hamburg.

i'm not sure but Deep Blue is inside - HL - name to Dr Avalanche since it's just a laptop.

They had laptops back then?
I thought Dr. Avalanche was a drum machine,
like an XR### something or another.

Anyway, the "Von" reference is good to know.
I don't feel comfortable calling him "Andrew" or "Andy"
since I've never been properly introduced to him.
...and I've been signing my own name with "Æ"
since I was a weefuck.

What's a "biro"?

I just found the color chart. (Yay me!)
I like to post in green for several reasons.
I like green.
My vision is poor & it's easier on the eyes.
I dye my body green sometimes.
It's kinda a "thing" for me, a signature thing, if you will.
(Someday, maybe I'll post photos of the green monster that is me.)

OMG someone's found the crayons.
