I'm no fan of the musical output but find the band themselves and their actions pretty interesting stuff. The film was an excellant way to spend a cold evening on my own in the flat.
Hope some others HLanders get something out of it too.

Looking forward to this. With a couple of exceptions, I really loved CRASS--and I still put them on from time to time.

Saw him in Manchester last year on the Last Supper tour doing Crass songs. Not only did it take me back a bit, it was bloody fantasticQuiff Boy wrote:apparently steve ignorant is embarking on a world tour shortly, and my friend carol (from glamtrashdiscopunk gods 'the bad taste barbies') is joining the tour as backing singer

Yes and no...it has details of Penny's youth and there's little humour there, but mainly it's set in and around Dial House and the people who he shares his life with...great read, but don't expect a literary geniusMothra wrote:Didn't know about that one. Heavy going reading?

Ta - with a birthday coming up (the day before a certain other beat combo turn 30 as it happens) and Amazon vouchers likely to come my way as a result I'll maybe give this one a blast.Andie wrote:Yes and no...it has details of Penny's youth and there's little humour there, but mainly it's set in and around Dial House and the people who he shares his life with...great read, but don't expect a literary geniusMothra wrote:Didn't know about that one. I'm just trying to find the stupidly long story of the legal battle that threatened to erupt when Penny started to put the re-issues together. I'm sure I read it all at Southern's website, but a lot seems to have happened since then.
Pity that it all seemed to descend into public squabbling by a group of people who said such important things to so many people.

Too bad that I can not fit in too much German cuisine and a game in an ironoically named "major league" as well on the same day?

Oh yes, Crass... I've read that Penny Rimbaud book 'Shibboleth' too a few years ago. It really was a very nice & informative read. The docu isn't too bad either.
I might have to dig up The Feeding of the 5000 once again, thas been a while.
