SISTERS SONGS COVERED.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I have seen the Sisters cover songs, and the cover tends to be much better than the original.

I have only seen Marian covered by Scooter and didnt like it. (shocking springs to mind)

Does anyone know of a good Sisters cover? :notworthy:

or a really bad one
I bet she still looks good in ribbons !!!

I'm not a big fan of those 'Tribute to ...' albums, but one cover that stands out for me is "Vision Thing" covered by Sex Sex Sex.

Lambchops "This Corrosion" springs to mind, because it differs significantly from the original, thus giving it a long overdue second life.

Ugh. No. I can't agree.

The Supersuckers do a fine cover of Afterhours, though.

I did a laughable version of "Burn" and "1959" once, and I have a lot more of the HL crew on my harddisc somewhere ;)

Remember ARF's "Summer" anyone? ;)

Always liked Ego Likeness doing "Afterhours"

This is all I could find to listen online.

There's also both Black Light Burns and Alkaline Trio covering Lucretia My Reflection, and Cradle of Filth doing No Time to Cry, but I wouldn't call any of them good...the Ego Likeness cover is really the only Sisters cover I listen to all that regularly.

There's a swedish tribute album called "A merciful release" that has some ok covers, nothing fantastic.

The song beeing closest to fantastic on that album is the cover of Floorshow by Headtrip Inc. (With some members from old EBM act Cat Rapes Dog.) It's a stonking industrial very fast cover.

I'm a bit disappointed by the Swanö-cover on this album. With his backlog he should have been able to do a cover that would blow everything else away.

In the electronic field, I am quite happy to listen to Destroid's version of Lucretia:
