That's a bit of a shocker. She seemed to be on fine form on the Sarah Jane Adventures?
Blimey.

So sudden and she was looking so well! =(
I was very sad over Courtney, too. I was hoping for the Brig to make at least one appearance in NuWho.

A shame.

I was just saying elsewhere that she was one of those actresses easy to underestimate due to the nature of the role she was best known for. That everybody just thought of her as SJS was actually a compliment to her ease in the role over the years.

That is sad news. My very first memories of watching Doctor Who were seeing Sarah Jane and Jon Pertwee as the Doctor. I was quite taken aback when Sarah Jane came back to the series, looking almost identical and as if she'd barely aged in 30 years!

So soon after the Brig too.
My daughter (10) is also a bit upset too as she is an avid DW/SJA fan and especially as she was lucky enough to meet Liz after a panto a few years back.
Lovely lady and a credit to her craft.

A huge shock when I read the news last night as her illness had been kept very private. As mentioned above, she was one of those actors whose performance was so natural and down to earth that it was easy to miss just how talented she was. Lis was sometimes in bad material but she was never bad in it.

Exactly - and then to learn she was ill
after passing so suddenly? Must be all that TARDIS travel.

has anyone ever done any research into potential links between excessive tardis use and cancer?
that big wooshy up-and-down thing in the middle of all those flashing lights always looked dangerous to me

*Time Lord hat*
The time rotor is probably the source of exposure to artron energy, the background radiation caused by travel through the temporal vortex - but all examples indicate it actually reinforces human antibodies and immune system.
