just reposting this from the ghost dance forum:

-----------------

I had the pleasure of hearing AMH's new album, Day of Days over the weekend and it's a blinder :o 8)

Anne Marie and her band (Trotwood, Stan & co) have recorded the album at Paul Weller's recording studio, and even though the copy I heard is supposed to be "unmixed" and lacks some final synths and backing vox, it's sounding pretty amazing!

Anyone who likes the Word To The Wise (and later) period GD stuff will be very pleased indeed.

Any of the first three tracks (Set Me Free, Lost In Munich & Hurricane Party) would have made great GD singles.

Good work guys - I really can't wait to hear the final version 8) 8) :von:

Well I know that Mel Spencer (who designed some of the Skeletal Family sleeves, "Sakura" etc) has been asked to do a sleeve for the AMH album.

So yes, I would presume it's going to be a CD release.

We played with Anne Marie in Berlin last month.

I have to say they put on a cracking show, lovely people too.

I heard another exciting piece of news about that album, which you'll hear about in due course.

Who cares. If the world should fall down, all I will regret is being not with The Sisters in Dublin ... ...

Anne Marie Hurst NEW CD ALBUM “DAY OF ALL DAYS

Image
After a 20 year hiatus from performing, the debut album from former Skeletal Family / Ghost Dance vocalist Anne Marie Hurst "Day Of All Days" will be released Friday 11.11.11.

Teaming up with Skeletal Family founder members Stan Greenwood (guitar) and Roger “Trotwood Nowell (Bass), "Day Of All Days" was written and recorded over the last two years at both Paul Weller's Black Barn Studio and Vale studios, Worchester with mixing by Steve Carey of Eden House.

Having already aired the new material on recent low key UK gigs to ecstatic audience response and pre release copies currently receiving rave reviews, the 13 track album is a reflection on the singer’s take on modern society and the downside / upside of modern living.

"Day Of All Days" introduces new band members Owen Richards on guitar plus Rob Caswell / Ian Atkinson on drums, and also draws on guest keyboard appearances from both Paul Weller on the melancholy "Your Eyes" and psychedelic inspired "Dreamy Days" plus Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Craddock’s mournful piano on the closing track "Mixed Feelings".

In some ways a progression from the previous albums "Futile Combat" and the Chrysalis major release "Stop The World", the album nevertheless stamps its own identity with the strong 13 track selection which will both satisfy and surprise fans of acclaimed past material.

Following recent dates in Berlin, Belgium, Finland and London, the band play live to preview the album at Semana Gótica Festival, Madrid 29th October 2011 and the Black December festival in their hometown of Keighley, West Yorkshire 10th December 2011. The band will be performing new album tracks plus top independent chart singles, “Promised Land, “The Grip Of Love and “She Cries Alone from both Skeletal Family & Ghost Dance extensive back catalogues.

Launch party will be held at The Cockpit, Swinegate, Leeds. LS1 4AG on Friday 11.11.11 commencing 8.00pm.

With highly respected British indie label, Jungle Records handling the release, the album will be available worldwide from Friday, 11th November 2011. Catalogue number FREUDCD108.
