Andrew Eldritch: Why won't you release a new Sisters LP?

Posted: 12 Aug 2011, 05:29

Seriously. What's the reason/s? What's so hard for someone who used to take the time to reply to fan letters in UTR to make an official announcement concerning this?

I don't believe production should be an issue, it's arguable and logical that the Sisters never needed shiny expensive production to make all those early singles.

Distribution as in issue? Well while you're touring the globe, you could and SHOULD be selling a new Sisters record at every gig.

If you only did this for three years in a row you would more than make your money back.

If The Violets can do it, if Porl King can do it, if James Ray (25men) can do it, surely you can IF YOU REALLY WANT TO AE!!!!!

WTF!?

I'm done. No more gigs and no more t-shirts and NO I won't be recommending anything Sisters related to anyone any longer, that is:

UNTIL YOU, ANDREW, WRITE, RECORD AND RELEASE A NEW SISTERS ALBUM!

*Hopefully this doesn't "offend" anyone, it's just something I had to get off my chest, which had I had a better opportunity, I would have done in another way.

They have already done it. Write and Record that is. Now TSOM have to release but if they releases new record/cd isn't part of the charm gone for this band?

No.

It's Either/Or.

Funny how the "acceptance" crowd seem to relish telling us lot who are still in denial that we're still... in denial. Do you really think you're doing us a favour by insinuating we should give up all hope... cut us, do we not bleed...? ARE WE NOT MEN...??

I based it on Kübler-Ross model, with wrong translated denial and bargaining. And i'm not trying to put myself over you- i remember that i was in same place. Now HL is a nice place for little chit-chats with very smart and nice people.

Quite clear from that interview that AE is up for releasing songs on Itune and stuff, but the member that co written songs that isnt in the band anymore, Adam Pearson is an obstacle. For some reason he always been against releasing songs this way, seems like he wants to release them the old fashion way.. afraid of loosing out on the money ?

Exactly. And believe me, once you've passed all these stages you become aware, glad, and very happy.

That's just part of the depression stage. It will pass. :D

To the contrary ... but maybe that's exactly what they want to avoid ... becoming one of those major acts they were. That has cost such a lot.
I think, they are still making me pay for the s**t they suffered ...

On the other hand, could anybody shelter them from the effects, I'm talking about?
Or reverse a situation once it has changed from a viable living to say, some uncontrollable alienation ...

It takes a very clear idea of one's own further path and needs and means to cope with that, and a stable basis. And many other things outside one's control. It's a risk.

Nonetheless, you might well dare it, Andrew. You know exactly, I can catch you if you fall - though surely not in every respect and in every moment and
by no way financially. However, plenty others could and would do the same and more, with way better means and from way better positions than mine.
And this is taking place all the time, isn't it?
And in addition, isn't this still part of that old overload nightmare ...

By now, you have really got rid of the worst ... :notworthy: ...
without drowning, and you've done it so strongly and well and persistently ... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: ...
* yeah, I have seen other sides as well ...

Could be a reason to stop letting me/us - and yourself - suffer for impressions/occurrences you had to encounter long ago ... face the errors.
Draw that line, that line, that line again, for example. YOUR line, of course!!! At my cost if you please and/or can't but or just because it is as it is and we are who we are.
(I'm used to that and shouldn't I? And it's still better than nothing. Sad enough but on the other hand a standard regularity, hhm).

For example. And if only as an imaginary horizon to cross.

But you won't listen anyway. Just as you didn't when I sung This Corrosion to you in Paris. Do it all away or not even,
to the contrary, perhaps. Meanwhile, destruction comes, and goes. Another standard.

So now, after this short recourse to UTR qualities I shall withdraw from this Why Don't You, Andrew - Phantasy Release & And Relief Basket for some time.
Maybe, I shouldn't have writen anything because it will all go on Twitter - and possibly someone will try to make me pay for what they think I were
and/or wanted, and they possibly will also try to make you pay. As before. Thanks. Never forget there's always some nasty motive at the basis.
Or mere dumbness. And so on. But no, I don't think so. It's only the old bombast nightmare and mostly likely only my personal idiocy again... :D :D :D ...

@ all Or would you say this is just somewhere between negotiation and depression? ... ...

Hm.. new record or the tours that we love? Can I be greedy and want them both?

I think we all would like to hear the songs properly recorded but in since we can't we do love the shows right?

(But being greedy I wouldn't mind them both :) )

but they're not, really, are they?

i know we may wish they were, but in the grand scheme of things... :?:

in a world where the major labels are increasingly scared to take a punt on even established bands that can't be guaranteed to shift a whole lot of units and sell out arena tours, the sissies aren't really seen as a major force anymore. definitely not in the uk or the states, and most likely not in europe.

anything else is wishful thinking and a clinging to the past on our parts.

sadly.

Interesting thing this. I remember the days when I was all fired-up and righteous about wanting wanting WANTING a new LP, but it's long since worn off. Sure, an LP would be a nice thing to have, and I'd be down the record store the day it was released, but ultimately it's not the end of the world. There are still good times to be gotten from seeing the odd show, meeting up with familar and new faces, and generally having fun.

There may also be an element of unwillingness to take on a band that have had disputes with their label in the past - particularly in light of the way the most recent dispute was resolved. I know that if I was the head of a record label, and if I felt there was a reasonable risk of having an SSV done on me, I would be thinking twice before touching the band with a 10 foot pole.

* oh shiver ... where did you get that bucket of cold water from ... ...

anyway, we were not talking about major lables and their resentments
to invest into something getting done they hope to yield a profit from
but about The Sisters actually doing something ... something possibly cool ... ;D ;D ;D ...

IMHO, that lable issue is really not the point anymore ...
not even if one might like to do some app world thing like Björk or Eno ...
obviously the latest development ... ...

it's a hell lot of work, though ... with or without apps ... and of course we all (I guess)
know The Sisters are too busy with touring and with all their wonderful other projects we enjoy ... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: ...

For me, it's fine as it is ... it's nice and it is developing anyway ... no need for any great releases ...
it is great already within itself ... and thus cooler than anything one person alone could ever do or be ... ;D ;D ;D

* ... it that now from depression to acceptance ...  ...

No.

When asked about the "Adam blocking releases name game" Kenny said, and I quote, "Adam is not to blame, there's only one person to blame and it's not Adam."

I took that to mean it was Andrew alone who was the obstacle.

Stop making excuses for the man. Why are we all so undemanding??? I want more.

Sabine, your post was lovely.

QB, sadly you are too correct. :(

funny how accurately a grief model describes the psyche of a semi-retired band's fanbase  :notworthy: :notworthy:

i can proudly say i made it fairly quickly to the acceptance stage - a little self-delusion goes a long way :innocent:
