I would usually feel like a pratt for posting such a topic, but I think I've been here long enough to not be accused of flaming or trolling...

So, a little self-promotion, then...

I've just released my own little album. Very heavily influenced by the Sisters.

Did I mention, you can download it for FREE?

Hey!

That's not bad.
:notworthy:

It's more Zodiac Mindwarp than Sisters though.
Ghost In The Shell reminds me of Stark Von Oben.

Anyhoo. I liked it & I actually shelled out for the FLAC download.

Thanks :D

Zodiac Mindwarp! Whoah, that takes me back... them and Balaam were about as "metal" as I ever got in the 80s.

Well, thanks a lot for the support! :notworthy:

Hey, much gratitude. You've gone above and beyond. And you've clearly sent some people my way. Thanks for helping us little guys. :notworthy:

Indeed - great stuff, thanks for sharing it. I can't really hear heavy sisters influence in there, too and considering the results I can't complain because what I hear is much better than what I've expected in advanced after reading the announcement^^

First thing I thought about as well, Zodiac Mindwarp. And just a tad of Ministry, without the venom...

Nice! Will listen to all tracks and might spend some money, even! :D

Got any physical product BTW?

Third song is a pish song, BTW ;)

The first two are stonking good.

Song 7 you borrowed most of the melody from FIX and gave it a Prong-swirl, nice one ;)

Song 9 is a super song, but it lacks the necessary (mix) power to give it that final punch. That goes for the whole album by the way.

And for the next album, start writing your own lyrics instead of nicking Von's!

Give this a better production and this could really become something!

Also, as a musician, I have to comment on the tuning of the guitar, it's a bit off-key, which makes for a wobbly unprofessional sound. Just positive criticism, because this has a lot of potential.

The intrumental-beginning of Track 9 reminded me of "Body Count". Besides I like the mix because it doesn't sound like 08/15 compressed and polished nowadays mastering.

Keep it dirty - at least a bit^^

Listening to Ghost In The Shell for starters.

I'll start by saying it sounds great, but I'll take a lead from Izzy and try and give some feedback.

Good voice - characterful but in tune, but I'm not hearing a real hook. Might reward multiple listens though.

Also agree with the Ministry comparison - no bad thing though!

Is it just one person or a full band?

I also don't like the overcompression bit, and it needs just a slightly better production, because this is very well done already, that's exactly why I can give so much more advice for the little details ;)

A bit more EQ-Comp glues all together a bit more I think.

Thanks a lot for all the feedback, everyone. It is much appreciated.

The guitars were all recorded analog a while ago. I hate digital processing on guitar. I went for raw instead of overly polished, so I can certainly understand some of the critiques.

Ghost in the Shell really does lack a hook. But I fell in love with the riff.

Most of these songs were written 12-14 years ago, so lyrically, yeah, they may not be tops. I just tried to avoid cringeworthy lyrics ala Mr Hussey and Astbury.

No physical product yet. If/when I make enough to cover costs, I'll probably go that route.
