Aussie Aussie Aussieeeee

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Drink plenty of Fosters, wear a hat with corks dangling from it, and call everyone "Bruce" and you'll do just fine. OK Bruce!

Best of luck. :notworthy:
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Only been to Sydney, but the lifestyle seems pretty okay. Not too fast paced & not too slow either.
Rent & salaries I can't help on but the beer is expensive.
Oh & don't ask for Fosters or XXXX
Coopers is what you want, but I did find cider readily available.
I covered the important stuff I think ;D
Cheers.

House prices are kinda expensive depending on where you're gonna live, Sydney is ridiculous in some areas and impossible to find a rental in others...kinda like London in some ways...example is a 2 bed bungalow close to Bronte is worth over 1.5 million Aus Dollars. If it had been two streets north (ie Bondi beach) add another million

You may find that property is similar in price to here, and rent will be about the same. Only difference is that Aus Banks will do a 45 year mortgage to make things more affordable.

XXXX is much better there, than the UK p*ss, and VB (Victoria Bitter) Stubbies are great. Drive through Off Licences are designed for the seasoned drinker

My feeling of the place is that it's the best of both the UK and the USA...even if you don't decide to stay it's worth it for the experience...

there is a demand for people with "English Background", probably to do with the over-supply of Asian migrations with qualifications but more limited English language skills. I suggest you talk up your experience
in managing others and related team and client skills.

house prices are high, rents are high, salaries are good, in the demand jobs. cost of living has gone up alot in the last 6 years alone, I'm talking food prices etc. Taxes are high, government paperwork is expensive.

the streets are clean, air's clean, the sun shines alot, the summers are hot.

there's not much architecture, or historical background compared to
Europe. And its a looooonnnng way home. If you like visiting Gothic cathederals, english pubs and tiny hamlets every weekend, you're gonna get home sick (trust me, you will ;)

Watch for the venomous snakes, the venomous spiders, the venomous fish... hells, Australia even has a venomous mammal! (The duck-billed platypus, if you wondered.)

Yes it is. From the very wiki link you just posted:
It is one of the few venomous mammals, the male platypus having a spur on the hind foot that delivers a venom capable of causing severe pain to humans.
