Frankly i don't remember which album was close in sound to SR but one of this two.

You obviously haven't listened to enough Yoof Bart.
They are very unique - I can't hear any other band when I listen to Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty or Murray St. They defy genre and pidgeonhole.

They have consistently dared to push the artistic boundaries, so basically you're wrong.
