I was there... wow
Been a Sisters fan since the mid eighties but only seen them once before (Reading 91)
Didn't really know what to expect from this, i have read a few bad reviews over the years, bad sound, vocals lost in the mix etc etc
Anyway, I am not a professional reviewer, but they were f**king awesome.
Opened with Temple Of Love then played (not in this order with some missing)
Alice
Crash And Burn
Lucretia
This Corrosion
Vision Thing
Detonation Blvd
More

Set was 40 mins and they finished on the dot.

I was front and centre, the sound was fantastic. The vocals were audible and AE was in good form. Shuffling and moving a bit, he seemed to be enjoying himself. He chased one of the female stage hands/crew around and off the stage a bit during This Corrosion.
He only smoked 1 cigarette.

No words between songs but introducesd the band at the end (including The nurse) and said something like "Thanks it's been a blast"

Very poor turnout, I can't be certain but I would say only about 150 people (???) I cold be way off though. It seems The Sisters are fairly unknown here, I only spotted about half a dozen T-shirts.
There were some tragic goths (fake blood on their faces and necks FFS) screaming a bit and I think Von actually sneered at one point.

Great show, the highlight of the festival for me. It's a shame there was hardly anyone there but they had Slipknot, System Of A Down & Angels and Airwaves on other stages. There was probably no casual observers.

They have still got it.

Sad to hear TSOM are now so seemlngly unloved in Perth... it is my original home town and I can assure they were well loved there in the 80s and 90s. So sad it was a small crowd, but very happy to hear it was a great show.

The setlist was the same as this http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=22462

The running order may be different, I am pretty sure they finished with More

The jewel of the 2012 line-up, yet one of the most underrated, was headliner Sisters Of Mercy. Surfacing after many years of trials and tribulations to enjoy a much-warranted resurgence, this self-dubbed ‘rock-and-roll’ outfit was adopted as the be-all of gothic music – despite the band’s sway away from that tag. Fronted by Andrew Eldritch, the only original member left under the SOM moniker, the iconic vocalist closed the book on past unsavory reviews to give one of the most talked-about shows of the festival.

Accompanied by guitarists’ Chris Catalyst and Ben Christo, bringing a harder edge to the tracks than expected, the trio swarmed between the influx of smoke, synths and programmed drums to inject life into songs many in the audience had listened to for more than two decades. Temple Of Love, Alice and Lucretia My Reflection brought roars from the growing crowd. But it was ender More, of 1990’s Vision Thing, that song burst from their fans – all joined as one with Eldritch to show their thanks to a band that had found a special place in their hearts.

Don't know why but I can't help thinking of Benny Hill reading this bit. Did someone come on and slap his head ?
