Hi,

I just picked up a CD from E-bay that I assumed was A New Kind Of Assassin but actually isn't.

It's called Best Of James Ray's Performance & Gangwar and has all the tracks from Assassin apart from Mexico Sundown Blues (Edit), followed by Dios Esta De Nuestra Lado in it's entirety.

I wasn't aware that this compilation existed so I am wondering if it is a bootleg, it has the same cover as Assassin, and a sticker on the cover says "Featuring Andrew Eldritch of Sisters of Mercy" - notice the missing definitive article and is published by Fith Colvmn Records.

This cost me 99p rather than the usual 25 - 30 quid his CD's normally go for so I am a little suspicious - not that I'm complaining, I've got two albums here for the price of one ! :D

It's just a bit of a mystery and any help would be most apreciated.

Paul.

It's not a bootleg, it's a compilation/best of released on the american Fifth Column label. It's not everyday you see it so for 0,99, consider it a bargain!

...and I guess the sticker is just a way to sell a few extra copies..

Thankyou.

I have been after this, (or the one I thought I won) for a few years now, my maximum bid was always £25.00 and I never came close.

Must be a sign of the times I suppose, or I just got lucky.

Thanks for your reply, xfloorshowx, much apreciated.

The Raymeister's entire back catalogue has been available for free download from the man's very own site until very recently. Sounds like a cool CD to get a hold of though - nicely done.
