Yeah, it really was ace... I went after getting lucky and getting some tickets off Gumtree and definitely don't regret it for one minute... it was the kind of gig I never thought I'd see... Jim Kerr restrained his stadium histrionics enough to make it a pretty impressive performance.. Setlist was phenomenal n'all.. I also managed to get away with one of Mel's drum skins and a setlist that I got Jim and Charlie to sign at Sister Ray on Record Shop Day a few weeks ago.. :D

Not sure about the ex-members thing though, from what I've heard there's a lot of bad blood between Burchill & kerr and Forbes and McGee and the others are playing under the X-SM brandname on their own accord (they did release a version of the American that's not quite up to it IMO..)

The rumour I heard (not sure how kosher) was that they were looking to work with Steve Hillage again.. now that would be very interesting...

You lucky, lucky git :notworthy:

I was aware of the bad blood, I read about the "negotiations" such as it was in last month's Mojo I think.

Kinda surprised Kerr would have an issue with them as he pretty disowned the early catalogue for the longest time but whatever.

Now just release this on blu-ray so I can annoy the neighbours ;D

Oh man, after listening to that and the one from Dublin that's floating around I'm even more :(

What ticks me off is I had $4K to burn in Jan and had I known if would have been this set list I would have packed my bags and flown across the pond for this.

I didn't because the info I had was they would play just 5 songs from the 5 albums during the tour like a medley or something and then the usual ... stuff

Dammit :x

dtsom: Your gig sounded like I was sitting in your lap . I mean that in a good way

Playing T In The Park next month! Polishing my dad dancing for that.

Bought the box set and played them back to back, makes you weep when you realise how f-cking good they were to how f-cking crap they became.

The 'Sparkle In the Rain' tour was one of my first gigs, £3.50 if I remember!

As my final laugh, I've picked 'Someone Somewhere ..' as the last of my three cremation songs. 'Stay, I'm burning slow...'
