Would you pay $4000 for an intimate Sisters gig ?

by Nikolas Vitus Lagartija
Peter Murphy's Miracula sessions offering a unique fan experience with a private gig at a cool $4000 per fan allegedly attracted about twenty-five paying punters plus a lot of negative comments on Bauhaus fora.

What would HLers think if
pulled a similar stunt, and would you stump up the cash to go ??

I paid eight quid last night to see The m*****n play a secret gig in front of 200 people. That's as intimate as I need it to be. Von and the boys in my front room? No thanks,I'd feel far to self concious, and without an audience,it would all seem a bit flat I think.

Would I get to choose the setlist..?
Otherwise no ta. Unless Eldo promises to crack "knock-knock " jokes inbetween songs.

Didn't
do a gig in someone's living room a while back? Some competition that she won (sponsored, no doubt, by What Smoke Machine?, or possibly Laser Shopper). Possibly the only show that there's no bootleg/weed of...(fully expects to be proved wrong in a matter of minutes
)

"If you reckon the Sisters want to perform in your garden for ten quid, you're wrong."
I would hope that extends to ten grand.
Peter Murphy is IMO the perfect example of why Von is right to stubbornly and persistently keep telling the media to f**k off. No dearth of terrible solo albums, no half-baked first thing for 25 years 'comeback' album, no flippin' Twilight cameos. And no sale of intimacy.

Sabine of The Reptile House, it's somewhere on t' website. I take it it's not Sabine/Being 456?
(no, not sarcasm, I'm genuinely asking!)

i wouldn't pay 40 $/pounds/Czech Korons/rupiahs to see TSOM.

I'd settle for paying £25 and actually being able to hear them properly.

You're right. It's not me. Fortunately. They wouldn't even fit in my flat! ...
...
And anyway, The Sisters doing their thing and me the only listener?... How boring (if not cruel) would that be ...
...
I love to see them play to some audience as large as possible, or ... well, nothing real ...
Anyway, I've created a page about that free gig at a Reptile House member's home
in the Wiki ...

Oh I see
Nothing but the good things ...
Though maybe, nowadays ... but I don't own $4,000, anyway, so what.

on the other hand, if it was for a Black October line-up and live form, i would.

Create a large smokescreen in your garden, play some Sisters bootlegs and pretend there's a band there. Almost the same as a real gig.

You forgot "get someone to push you into a wall every few minutes".

I would pay $4000 if I got to choose the set-list, I was guaranteed it was going to be of exceptional sound quality and I was able to record it.

i would pay even more just one condition. TSOM plays YCBTO in this gig.
Sorry but IT IS excellent song. *hums tune a bit*

Don't think the wife would like all the dry ice over the living room.

If I had four grand to spare, it certainly wouldn't be going toward lining
's pockets.

Next question: would you pay $4000 for a new Sisters album?

... absolutely.
Though of a 3,000,000 € lottery win I might be willing to spare 1,000,000 €
to have them make a
new album - well, within the reasonable period of time of say, three years ...

Even with a huge lottery win, I'm not sure it would be worth the risk.

SSV ...
... that was a special case under special conditions, an act of say, self-defence. And I like it ...
...
Also, looking 'round here, I don't see how "
the fanbase lap it up anyway" ...
...
No, I'm pretty sure that under fair conditions they'd deliver a fair result ....
well, with a few side blows of whatever kind included, of course ...
