Eldritch is supposed to be a Scottish word, but it's most famous for being (over)used by H.P. Lovecraft, e.g. in his Cthulhu Mythos.

I picked it up off the net somewhere, probably through a link on Dominion. As far as I can remember it's scanned out of a Q magazine from the early 90's. That's all I know, but I might be able to find the original post at home.
oh, and it's hallucienate, with an "e" the capital "H" is not important, if you want to capitalize a letter make it the second "L"

His choice of name could have something to do with the novel "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch" by Philip K Dick.
Perhaps it's purely coincidental, but there's a line in that book about gift meaning poison in German.
(I'm sure this has come up on this forum before)

Doh....Andy was a computer nerd/geek before it was even fashionable. I mean come on.....look at what the first Dokter Avalanche was....a compaq 286 programmed in DOS!
The first computer used for the Doktor's brain was a Compaq 286 Portable. Andrew's got it in his Retirement Home For Struck-Off Doktors. You can find a description on the Personal Kit page. It had space inside for the ISA card which linked to an interface for midi (a Voyetra Technologies version of the MPU401) and FSK sync. The midi interface had one input and one output port. The Compaq 286 Portable was the main workhorse on 'Floodland'.
He did however turn into one sexy bastard in later years, and IMHO he still is one sexy bastard!

must be the rose tinted spectacles,
but this is IMHO nonsense. Where did you trawl up this information? AFAIK Compaq didn't exist 'till '82. It was, i think, the dreaded H + 1 A + 1 L + 1 that created the first sounds

The Doktor was an Oberheim DMX by the time we made the first album...

He is entertaining, isn't he? I love to go and haunt his place. Love those pics of his cats....Feed me!!!
Its probably the main reason I am so crazy for him. He really is an intellectual with a keen wit and mean sense of sarcastic humour. Not many men can do that an remain attractive...But maybe I'm the odd one!!
. And he is gorgeous too boot.
