Female singer at London 'Dark Christmas' '93

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Anyone know who this was? I wasnae there. Quite liked hearing traditionally Von-only Sisters tracks with female vox, though. Terri Nunn maybe?

I don't remember any backing singer being there (but who can tell with all the smoke  ).

I think it was on backing tapes but it was so long ago I could be wrong.

Thanks to Heartland Forum Member Azaeel666, we do have a graphical timeline of The Sisters members beyond 1993.
According to this, The Sisters' background singers around that time were Suzanne Josesowicz, Jovanka Wilsdorf and Hermine von Wiro.

According to UTR V, Suzanne and Jovanka both were at the gig at Sabine's in '93.

Is there any video with the girl singers?

When they're buried in the mix, it works well but sometimes the shrieking overwhelms & ruins the songs... for me anyway

Is that right about Jon Langford being in the band from the beginning until sometime in '81? I thought he just filled in for a few gigs when Craig was, er, unavailable.

Thanks guys. I may look up their other work out of curiousity, although I guess... given their Sisters performances...

You're right ...

So basically, Tom Ashton oughta be listed as a member as well
for playing a few gigs when Ben Gunn had left and before That Guitarist came ...

Hell, nothing is perfect in this world ...

I was wondering whether she might be the Susanne/Suzanne in the song.

Not quite if the Wiki is correct. I was under the impression that Jon filled in when Craig went on one of his occasional AWOLs but the Wiki says he played for a few gigs before Craig joined.

I didn't know about Tom Ashton. Thanks for the new info. Wonder if we'll ever find out who exactly was in the proto-Sisters before the first single.

I was talking to Si after one of the recent March Violets shows about many things and we moved onto life in the Sisters when Tom joined in to declare he had played in the band a few times. I have to say I was quite surprised. I wished i'd taken the opportunity to ask a bit more about it.

That was '92; the day before Hasselt.
So Suzanne and Jovanka sang along at Pukkelpop?

Thanks radio!!! I'm also sure there were keyboards on stage with a long haired girl behind it. Suzanne probably.
