Is there a definitive book ?
I have read several over the years and have a friend who's curious and I would like to point them in the right direction.

I read his book "The New Architecture and The Bauhaus" - captivating stuff, really helped me get an insight into the movement and the philosophy. His house is near our office in Boston, definitely worth a visit if you're up that way - and the Neue Galerie in New York has some fantastic Bauhaus stuff.

i discovered many things and learned many many things and some things just become reasonable, like how precious was the electric bulb lamp holder next to my child bed
i discovered that my parents put me on a strict bauhaus environment when i was a child and raised me to tha bone with this
also discovered why i love so much all the works of vasilie kandinskie
