Mr Eldritch is interviewed by David Sinclair in a rather good Times article from back in the day. There is a photo of Von at leisure in his Hamburg flat and the header is "Je Suis Un Rock Star".

I dont think the article has featured here before so if someone can pop down to their local library and get on the old spools, it might make a nice Xmas present for us all.

I remember this interview as well. Sinclair was a fan of the band and IIRC had penned a positive review of the RAH finale two years earlier. Is this not the interview where talks of buying The Times at the local shop and brags about being able to do the (notoriously difficult) cryptic crossword ?

Meh, crosswords.

Crosswords are just a matter of practice. A lot of crossword clues work like very very bad jokes. I don't get the Times (foul Murdoch rag) but I did go through a phase of doing the grauniad's cryptic puzzle every day. You get used to the way the setter's mind works.
