Definitely the oddest thing I've heard in a while and I've heard Yoko Ono's throat singing version of Firework by Katy Perry...

I felt rather unclean after listening to it. There was something rather tawdry and disgusting about the whole thing.

I had no idea who Carly Ray Jepsen is but apparently she is from m*****n, British Columbia - it just shows there is a oneness to the universe, as long as you are prepared to look.

Good effort, Orchoid ! Certainly an improvement on CRJ's original which I have been hearing blasting out from Just Dance 4 ( ) a lot over the past week or so ..

The first 40 seconds were quite good. Any idea where that sample is from? :innocent:

God forgive me, I really like it!

But then again, I've never heard of this Jepsen person or her song. I have an occasional weakness for really stupid pop.

Nor this. Goosebumps every time; my favorite mashup, ever. :notworthy:

Couldn't get that bloody CRJ chorus outta my head after listening to this. Evil, but clearly catchy.

Public Demons (PiL/Macy Gray) is the king and queen of mash-ups. I'm not sure if Bynar's Abuse The Dominion is a mash or just some added techno tinkering, but if it's a mash then that's the king instead 8)

Thanks for the tips, dear Ravey! Will have to investigate... ;D

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback guys.
Not keen on the example 'mashups' that have been posted in this thread. Although there's a couple of are quite good fundamental ideas, but they all have tuning issues (and the engineering is a bit suspect).

My own mashups tend to be for amusement in essence and quite often are (subconsciously?) intended to upset people. I quite like to perversely juxtapose tracks which should never be thought of 'in the same sentence'

I still think this is really very good.

As far as the general subject of mashups go, I think the Beasties/Beatles Let It Beast might be the best thing I've ever heard.

Thanks sultan. I'm so glad you get it. :D

Maybe you'll like this one, a personal favorite of my own mashup experiments so far...
