Cancelled Concert Tickets

Have you established a good reputation at HL and got some Sisters stuff to sell or trade with the community? Or are you searching for that elusive ultra rare live bootleg from 1988? Ever had a bad experience with a trader on Ebay? Let us all know here. Outdated threads will be purged over time.

like most of you i keep concert tickets whenever possible. i wouldn't go as far as buying them for gigs i hadn't been to, but some do' so:
i have a ticket from the cancelled nottingham rock city gig of sep 2000 (water tank burst, roof fell in) which rescheduled for 17/2/01 and wondered if anyone knows dates/circumstances for all cancelled/abandoned sisters gigs ever?

p'haps this should be in resources/boring faqqers -but traders and anoraks are inseperable.

And I knew the words to every song.

i stand corrected, of course. thank you. ironically the very comprehensive listing of cancellations is missing the nottingham gig that i was on about.

Has anyone got the exact quote about the rescheduled Nottingham date, pointing out "it's closeness to a certain anniversary that some of you may be aware of"?
iirc it was rescheduled before the anniversary dates were announced .

The Nottingham gig in September 2000 took place on the 3rd.
However, there was another gig scheduled for Nottingham on 30 August 2000 which was cancelled and rescheduled to 18 February 2001.

Unfortunately, the Sisters Tours Page including the Sisters of Mercy Database seem to be down today.
There, all cancelled gigs are listed up to 2003, IIRC
Funny, those page were working perfectly last night ...

Hell, I'm very tired at the moment... heaven knows how much (or little, rather)
I've slept during the past week ... and then that two-hour session at the dentist in the morning ... :urff: ...

it was nearly not rescheduled at all, due to the gig on 3/9/2000 being noteworthy for the drunken violence and/or appathy of the crowd. if you listen back at the bootleg there is a lot of fighting and eldritch is getting well pissed off. then "alice" gets a massive response to which von shout "now i understand! you're TRADITIONALISTS!" then says plainly that he wouldn't have bothered to reschedule the cancelled gig as nottingham didn't deserve it, but that they had redeemed themselves at the 11th hour.

I was at the gig and although I don't recall any violence, the crowd were a bit lack lustre, with some quite vocal complaining about the bands performance in relation to the ticket price, but it was a much better gig than the 2006 anniversary gig at Rcok City, that was just poor, and the girls haven't been back since.

I was at that gig too - Like ribbons69 I can't remember any crowd violence at that gig but obviously I could only see the small section of the crowd near me. I do remember the crowd being a bit apathetic, though.

I remember it being one of those gigs where the crowd was really flat and just stood there with arms folded - I thought it was because the majority of the main set was unreleased material without any golden oldies.. Hence, "you're traditionalists" when they played something that everyone in the room knew.

Yep, I was there too. I can't recall seeing any fisticuffs as such but the crowd were rather apathetic. But, I've been going to Rock City since its first ever gig and other gigs in the city and the crowds ARE traditional, they know what they like and like what they know - perhaps it's an East Midland thing. It was the gig where Gaz first said 'Well I won't be coming to see them any more (yes, he's said that at every subsequent gig but I really think he now means it    )

Am I right in thinking it was the Hawaiin shirt era?
