New Iggy & The Stooges album

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

While The Weirdness wasn't up there with the previous stuff, it's still awesome to have them around (Well sadly minus Ron RIP)

Iggy: "This is not the f**king Smashing Pumpkins, we've got the bald guy and whoever... No. The Stooges are a real group."

Phew! Thank God he mentioned the Pumpkins by name!

Cool :)
Is it wrong that I miss some of his post-Stooges stuff when he tours?

Not at all ... I just re-read the patcy Iggy biography by Joe Ambrose (p*ss-poor compared to Paul Trynka's effort). Set me off on a bit Iggy listening spree and there are great songs throughout the solo career.

I thought the new album was going to contain a lot of unfinished business, with the never officially released songs from way back finally being committed to vinyl/CD/whatever, but no mention in any of the press I've seen this week.

I thought it was pretty cool when they first reformed, thatRon put his foot down and wouldn't play any of the Williamson era stuff - though a couple had slipped in towards the end.

With Williamson now, I think it's a bit more open, the play from all the Stooges albums, the Kill City material and the unreleased stuff too.

Like Mothra said, there's great stuff in Iggy back cat, but when we've had 20 odd years of sub stooges backup bands messing the stooges stuff up on Iggy's solo tours, it's nice to have the real thing cutting loose...

Let's hope for the best. I for one stopped following his releases when he jumped on th Crow-train ...
