Went to see the new Cornetto trilogy movie last night. A sanguine comedy. To say more would be giving too much away, but I hope Von was tickled pink if they asked him.

Reviews I've read all mention that the character in question is still fixated on The Soup Dragons' I'm Free. Doesn't seem to go with the t-shirt.
And should we not feel ever so slightly insulted that a guy who is intended to be living in the past and never having grown up is depicted as being a Sisters obsessive !

Not feeling insulted in the slightest - the film is funny and the manner in which the film uses This Corrosion (which also features with the end credits) works very well. I wouldn't be surprised if it got more folk to check out the band's catalogue - there's also a nod to the Nephilim's Preacher Man video.
Considering the film includes classic tracks from twenty years ago, I think having a Sister's track included amongst them is pretty cool.

I guess that filum may be the reason why there was/will be no gig in 2013- cats got few £s for food.
but that's just another wild assumption. like everything else not said unambiguously and straightforward by A.E. himself.

Actually really looking forward to seeing it now, and every time there is an ad for it on tv and I see the T-shirt I get all a-flutter!!!

So it really has come to the point where 'we' (as a forum) get excited by the fact a popular film includes 'our' bands name on a characters shirt and a song on the sound track?

Yep, that's pretty much the size of it. Plus there's the slight chance that anyone seeing me in my head and star t-shirt might now think I'm vaguely cool in a post-modern ironic kind of way rather than just some obsessive tosser who never grew up.
Vaguely interesting quote from the director here

..and even that's allowing for a broad definition of "recent."

i guess that you missed or just forgot about thread where some of us were excited because someone from any other band (no matter if anyone heard of them) wore head and star on his tee.
or another: who and when mentioned (good or bad; preferably good) about TSOM.
that's how pathetic we are. and the band.

The big question remains though...will I or will I not go and see it wearing a Sisters Tshirt.
I don't want to look like a forty something self deluding man staring at failure in the face.....but...

If, as someone has already mentioned, the head and star becomes the next Ramones Logo to sweep the planet and you can't tell the real fan from the 12 year old fashion slave.
Will this be a good thing?
Obviously Eldo will make a load of dosh but will that be put into recording facilities or even dry ice....

Well, considering Vonn has allegedly spent time trying to get Sisters' songs off soundtracks (Showgirls?), the fact that one song appears slap bang in a climatic moment of a British comedy is something to talk about. In addition it rather contrasts the image of goths not having a sense of humour.
(Yes, I know the "We were not goths" stuff but I'm not sure I entirely believe them.)
Besides, after twenty odd years without a new release and no tours (so far) this year, what else are we going to talk about? I imagine the weather has been done to death.
At least we get to talk about Trooper ale in the Iron Maiden camp - it goes well with sausages, so it is ideal for a barbeque if you must know.
If the Sisters were to release an alcoholic drink, then what would it be? Cider, Vodka, Rum or something that comes with a pink umberella?

Was there not a genuine Temple of Love ale someone posted a link to last year ?
IIRC it was described as having a "bittersweet" taste !

There are three big posters on the railway tunnel outside my office..... I have an unnatural desire to pull one down just to rescue the T-shirt. I think there is something wrong with me

I heard years ago that he refused to let 'This Corrosion' be used on the Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, that would have kept him in Malboro till deathday. Strange that he allows the track to be used in a film which bolsters the Sisters' goth image.
