Next gig sweepstake

So - exactly one year since the last gig, and still no future dates announced, the first time this has happened for ten years
So how about a cheeky wee sweepstake on the date of the next Sisters gig to see which HLer is the g--- Nostrodamus.
As a traditionalist, I'm going for 16th February. Just haven't decided on the year yet !

I reckon they've played dozens of gigs but no-one heard them.

I'm putting my money on May 15 2018 as the date of the last gig - it will be a small intimate affair, a la MTV Unplugged. :von:, a single spotlight over the podium, a grand piano and an acoustic guitar, no smoke, no strobes, and no lasers. He'll play a couple of old numbers, all the unreleased stuff, and finish it off with 1959. The audience will sit in stunned silence. At the end of the set he'll say "goodnight, thank you, and goodbye," and walk off stage.

After that, my guess is that you'll never hear from him again.

Although maybe, some time later, various humane societies will start receiving some peculiar bank drafts - not huge, just enough to make sure that all of their feline wards are cared for - mailed from a PO box, signed with a squiggle that maybe looks like a couple of upper-case vowels, or maybe it's just a squiggle, with a note on the memo line that says "Climb the curtains" or "Flash the ash".

And maybe, as you're leaving a club, the grey light of dawn just peeping over the rooftops, the low mist clinging to the wharves and docks of some industrial hinterland, a figure will appear and call out for you to stop. He'll come right up to you, peer at you over the top of a pair of dark glasses, and rasp through crooked teeth, "The next album is going to be awesome," before shambling away, wreathed in cigarette smoke, laughing manically, to where a battered white Mercedes is idling on the corner by a derelict warehouse.

Maybe.

EvilBastard, I'm moved by your words. I thought that it simply cannot happen to me again, but my eyes are wet. I'm weeping like a motherless child that needs a warm, love and care of his or her mother, but he or she will never ever know how is to be love by a mother, because his or her mother is dead; like homeless, restless, known to none. Your description sounds so real. You are a bastard. Damn you to hell! :(

Flattery, sir/madam, will get you everywhere. Nowhere you'd want to be, it's true, but everywhere nonetheless.

Next year, Body and Soul 30th anniversary tour, where they'll play all 4 tracks on the 12" back-to-back.

What, you were expecting other songs too? Get over it, peasants!

Weird. A year ago they were sounding quite relevant, there was an easy polish to them, and even a sense of opening up a bit - with the Lisa-This-Corrosion interlude. You could half expect some sort of band interaction - maybe even some new material (to be played, not recorded).

Right now, I don't get that feeling. Sitting here today I'm not sure that anything will happen. I wonder if the end has come and gone, whilst we were playing our song title games.

Did anyone see Chris' tweets recently? He sounds like he might be giving it away. And I wonder if TSOM are over.

one of us- HLers- wrote that he chat with Ben (?) and he said that there will no gig(s) to the end of that year.

He's done all one could ever possibly have done - without reservations ...
now he's trying to take a next step ... which sooner or later does inevitably serve a point of difficulty and/due to thinking things over ...

As to The Sisters, this does indeed not exactly hint at any planning for the near future ... :? ...

In April, the cruellest month. :von:

Perhaps relevant,

Q: What does the future hold for The Sisters Of Mercy?
A: Once we’re back from this final leg of the 30th Anniversary jaunt? A few choice festivals in Summer and a big long rest. We need to get out less.

In that case...

The Crucible, Sheffield, 19th April 2014.

That was only six months ago. A bit early for the bookies to be paying out I'd say. And those cool guys who put on the Sziget festival have announced that they're doing one in Kiev next summer, and I'm sure that they'll be looking for a suitable headliner for the first edition ...
