Tim Grice in Manchester... Would you have been at the Banshee late 80's early 90's?

It sounds familiar. Used to head for Devilles in the early/mid 80s...happy daze!

Hello Tim - I've not posted here for a while because i made a new rule to NOT POST WHEN DRUNK - Thing is I just don't come here when I'm sober...so - here's another drunken post...Just want to say about that Walk Away poster you have - it's a long story so feel free to ignore it...
I was stuck in Liverpool one night many many years ago with a good mate - we went to a club and ate a teenth each. I got psychodeliasized and he got twatted. There was this model, the plastic type, sporting a leather jacket that i decided to try on - it was far too small...my mate who was better fed than me also tried it on and decided it was perfect for him. he looked daft. It was way too small.
The Dj came over and said 'I think that jacket should go back on the plastic thing' or whatever he said...and at the end of the night he said we could crash at his place. His place was five miles from the club and we walked hoping it might sober up my twatted friend some but the walk did nothing.
Thing is here - the DJ had seen that both of us were recklessly comfortable about stealing a jacket from the club and still he was cool about us crashing at his place - he knew we weren't thieves - just saw that we were off our heads.
So - we woke up in the morning and on his wall was that Walk Away poster and man that poster looked sooooo good I've wanted it ever since. saw it once for a tenner and thought that was a lot of money at the time so I let it slide.

My mate woke in the morning thinking we were in the train station - he was totally f**ked - sayin - ''Look at the record collection they've got here - WHAT a station - man - LOOOOK!' etc. It was very funny.
Our host came through with breakfast and my friend was blown away - He's shouting 'Liverpooooool - Breakfast in bed train station - Live er pooooool' the host took it in his stride like it happens every day.

Years later me and my mate are in Berlin with the Boo Radleys and this guy - our host - is there! Turns out he's the manger of Boo Radleys - My friend is a driver - a very good driver - he can fall asleep at the wheel and still drive he really is a good driver and he was offered the job of Boo Radleys bus driver because he had a bus and could drive no matter how many tabs of acid you put in his tea. Next week his bus got burnt down in the ethnic cleansing of Kreutzburg and so now he's a home breaker for the social services - strange how it goes huh? (He's still a fantastic man I have to say - just that he's got the worst job in the world) He's ok; struggles with the job he's got - it really is the worst job in the world but he's f**king good bloke so it's good that he has the job and not an evil c**t.
Me? I'm a dealer - and I deal records and memorabilia but after reading the vibes you got here at Sisterland i dont't think I'll offer any of my stuff out here!! Yuk - that was nasty huh? not nice. (note to Sisterhood - do we want sisters stuff or do we want to just tell ourselves to f**k off? - do we have to know our Ben Gunn from our Tim Brechno's before offering a poster for sale?) (Tim Brechno was awful by the way; that shirt, and that f**king wiggle, far more offensive than an overpriced poster)
i gotta admit i wanted to murder you horrifically when i saw you had the Walk Away poster and that you wanted THIRTY f**king BASTARD FIVE c**t NIPPLE PENIS QUID for it. But, sure, as you said, a thirty year old mint poster for the price of a Phil Collins wig isn't bad really.
End of story - let me know if that one comes down to a fiver - ok ok ok ok ok I'll pay ten including postage for that one.

Now - let me guide you to the jokes page -some good stuff there x

You wanna know something? I had to quit drugs a few years ago - and it f**ked me up. I couldn't go to a gig for a coupla years until the 30th ann. Leeds gig and I went thinking 'how am I gonna do a gig sober!!!'

And that mosh pit was the hardest but yet friendliest mosh I've ever been in - I think it was hard because my body was alone - it had no phet in it - but the folk in the mosh were fantastic - very hard but very sensitive...and I think that that is what we have at MH here. Both hard and kind. It's good - I like us
