Or just post some. I've been enjoying Korean and Chinese music a great deal. I recall there was another thread like this, but I can't find it, so here are some tunes to begin:

"Gan Qing Sheng" ("Love Life") by Faye Wong: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpXElVMiqvY
Studio version with unrelated video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USkxEktyJfk
"Bu Liu" ("None Left"): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xaZkIYtd8I

Lovely voice
I was a bit disappointed in that the backing track was rather "western" in nature
I liked the third track "Bu Liu" best it sounded a tad reminiscent of Japan on a bad day

I like those a lot. :) Shina sounds like a grumpy Momoiro Clover Z come down from the sugar high of the century: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWSbfCPkTBk
MCZ is as far as my experience with Japanese music goes, so please post more if you've got it.

On a vaguely similar note, "Romantic Cat" by the Korean rock group Cherry Filter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6EcOiKWfZI

Yeah, the Asian flavour often seems to come out more in the vocal melodies and technique, at least on the very openly popular stuff I've been listening to and to my expectation of what the Asian flavour ought to be like. Faye incidentally was influenced by the Cocteau Twins, and even worked with them on a couple of songs, which I think shows (in a good way) on "Love Life" in particular.

We need to have a proper look into the amazing world of Korean chart pop soon.

Ah I spelt her name wrong before. Shiina Ringo. Two i's. Shiina being the family name (pronounced like Sheena as in Easton) because the names go the other way round over there, Ringo being her first name - although it's a nickname, Ringo means apple (which explains why Ringo Starr is often a Japanese persons favourite Beatle). The story goes that when she was a kid she had to get on stage at school and recite something her cheeks went red like an apple and everyone called out "ringo!" and it became her nickname).

Thank you for the recommendations, man. I forgot about this thread. Shiina in particular is wonderful, and I loved the Morning Musume song.

As promised, the following are Korean chart pop. This has become my primary popular music preoccupation as of late. It won't be to most tastes here, but... give it a chance, maybe? I honestly think they rock harder than anyone else.

"Sixth Sense" by Brown Eyed Girls. To me, the song is groovy absolutely beyond description. The second link goes to the glorious live rendition:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWlrTip_9VI
("Their title track is an expression of the limitations of experiencing music with only five senses, and it asks people to feel it instead with their sixth sense. The song itself is very free in style", goes the official explanation.)

The fabulous T-Ara with "Lovey Dovey" and "Jeon Won Diary":

Indie sensation Crayon Pop with "Bar Bar Bar" and "Bing Bing":

The obligatory "Gee" by Girls' Generation. For good or ill, this is one of the definitive bits of K-pop:

"Midnight" by Beast. The genre of the lacrimose boyband song crystallized to perfection. This, along with "Sixth Sense", I find legitimately very f**king good:
