Drugs, intelligence, some sort of wisdom, knowledge, even geekness, fashion disaster, screwing people mostly to prove that he's on the top just to fall right after that, because of wrongly taken pride, ego. So yes, i see a lot connections, but i'd rather see BrBa two times in a row (which i did), than see one more time TSOM.
Seriously, one of the best series i've ever watched. along with The Sopranos and The Wire.
