Sad news. RIP indeed. Been a big fan since my teenage years.

The stuff he did on the Aliens franchise made him probably the most famous artist in (post-Warhole) Alternative culture.

Bit of a genious, lots of artist.
Apparently a banal accident ended his life... he deserved a much longer life indeed.

No doubt about that ...
... but parts of his early works I found far enough off mark that I found genius and artisanship neglectible and nearly missed the Alien things he did as well.

I wouldn't want to judge what he deserved or not, but I share his approach of
no rebirth, please. And if necessary, then not in a world as it is now.
RIP, H.R.Giger, we will probably see some day, whether it is a rest only, though I feel quite certain, it is final.

HR was a fookin legend, what a beautiful legacy he leaves behind.
On a work trip to Switzerland i slept in the same bed as Giger once. (not while he was in it you understand). i was hoping to wake up infected with a xenomorphic lifeform, but nope all i had was a bloody hangover.

I truly can't believe he's gone: THE artist of the 20th century (remember what Eldritch said about ethics and aesthetics?)

Now I'm going to a kind of amateur dramatic production of Alien tomorrow which is allegedly very very funny
