Up and coming Leeds band Eagulls certainly tick all the right boxes when it comes to bands they are compared to (KJ, JD etc), and in this new interview http://www.purevolume.com/news/The-PV-Q ... rview-2014 singer George Mitchell confesses to not only being a TSOM fan, but also that they used some of the band's equipment when recording their excellent debut album.

Cool! Good album it is too

The most famous artist yet to ride 's ample coat-tails to Coolsville is ... Andy Biersack (sic) of Black Veil Brides, some of whose choons have clocked up an astonishing 60 million plays on YouTube.
It seems that young Andy isn't a massive fan of the commercialised screams metalcore he usually peddles but has always been a fan of "80's synth and goth rock like The Sisters of Mercy" (to quote his recent Kerrang interview), and is releasing a solo album under the imaginative pseudonym of Andy Black.
Sadly, the first track from the album seems to have more in common with boyband pop-rock acts like McFly or Five Seconds of Summer than TSOM :

Still, if just 0.1% of those BVB YouTubers google TSOM to see what the fuss is about that would bring about three times as many people to the band as witnessed them on the recent European tour.

It's a great album. While I can't hear JD in there, I can hear KJ.
I can also hear Magazine, The Teardrop Explodes and early Banshees.

It's not often a special album comes along by a new band...at least not for me in recent years. Hookworms is a good example.
