FPL GW5: Preview, update and review (Deadline 20 Sep 11:30)

And so IGM return to the hallowed turf of Heartland Stadium with a hop, skip and a jump in their step, after three successive GW victories against Robert Smith's Glorious Coiffure (â„¢ Pipperoo).

Note: I've now sought legal representation who have agreed to refer the GW1 result to CAS. It could work.

After the European midweek matches I'm sure you'll all be now scouring the Internet for the latest pressers regarding your FPL darlings. Will he start? Is my one-legged donkey (I thought was a good idea at the time) now a no-legged donkey?

I also note that there's four WCs active at the moment. Two on either side.

Will this bring a change about in the fortunes of EIB as they attempt to bridge the 128pts divide? Or will IGM simply go from strength to strength that even before Xmas we'll all be pointing and laughing at them as we sing: ♫ It's FPL I'm in Love ♫ ?

Questions, questions, but only time will tell as GW5 unravels itself. With Lady Luck in the driving seat, and smirking and flicking two-fingers at us (as is her wont) who knows.

Good luck all!

Anyone for a pie? :innocent:

Thankfully the CL matches did little to damage my snowflakes. :D

Oh fook!
That was the kiss of death wasn't it?

Right. As Bob Smith would say (in block caps) "onwards"

ps Is it not Pie Day I'm In Love? ;D

Honestly, I despair Lee (in a Fat Bob Pornography and Disintegration type way) as Jo's just given you microwave cooking instructions.

But as she's in a new kitchen, not bought on HL, you may wish to reconsider your pie/microwave guidelines.

Whatever happened to ovens?

Desperately need a change of fortune after two pathetic weeks have seen me slide ten places down the table. Yaya Touré, this is your last chance ...

Well if you need a witness. I won't tell anyone you're a mentalist who left the team short after a paddy fit for posting in the (self appointed) wrong thread lmao

Leopards and spots I'm loling

At 11.0m on GW1 (now down to 10.8m) he should never have been your first chance, never mind your last chance.

Just saying like.

I was just swayed by his humongous points total last season having not played this version before. Would have punted him before now but have had to use all my transfers so far replacing injuries and people who've left/changed clubs. If things carry on like this I may get tempted to use the wildcard.

I fully understand the attraction of Yaya. He'd just had one of those never to be repeated again seasons.

Special empathsis on the never to be repeated again bit.

You're our Lone Wolf, but maybe you need to come in from the cold and sit beside the fire.

cut a little slack, johnny. most of us aren't used to this and picked our teams in good faith based on last year's results.
we ARE all playing for pleasure, right?

You have no idea how pathetically proud of that epithet. I almost PMed a Mod to ask them to change my rank to that from "Slight Overbomber". I might even get a t-shirt made. :P

Whoah!

Some of you guys are playing for fun?

What a weird concept? I walk away now Joanne.

Enjoy your kitchen. And pies.

"Playing" is always for pleasure.

Sod what's best, I've shelled out on Di Maria no worries. Also shipped out Adnan as he'll rarely play, for the life of me I've no idea who I replaced him with. Some journeyman clogger I'm sure. Bit more like it last week after a dismal one before that, gonna clean up this weekend though, if I break 70 points at any stage of the season I'll be over the moon Brian.

i'm a great believer in "it's not the winning that counts but the taking part".
obviously if one is taking part properly one has to play to win.

i dumped Yeah-yeah Terrible along with his other manc mates. thanks to "wildcard whizzkid week" i'm now fielding half the current dream-team and balotelli for what it's worth. in fact it's an almost total overhaul as the wildcard is very seductive, and i'm not known for my ability to resist temptation.

:notworthy:

No turning back now. All that's left to do is chop up the oranges & chill the wet sponges.
Bring it on!

Hopefully one of your other stars will be injured and you'll get the 12 points he scored today anyway. I put him in my line-up and am now banking on a City clean sheet to cement my return to sit by the fire ...

Did pretty good from the bench though didn't he?

load of opld pants so far; balotelli gave me 4 and bertrand 5 but like a twit i had sterling on the bench.
still, 6 players playing today and all fairly strong ones in big games. the 13 points i've obtained so far dont look so bad when you see the average point score is only 16.

23; points here. With 5 key players to go and leaving welbeck on the bench. Set up 433 for the next though
