The nefilim @ dalarock 96

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I had never the pleasure to see Fields Of The Nephilim live in the flesh back in the days. So miss this oppurtunity was not an option. I gathered the usual suspects back then and we hit the road for Dalarocken in Hedemora, Sweden.

Remember, Hedemora is a big s**t out in inbreeder hillbilly country. Not a place you ever would visit to see a concert, but as we were, young, broke and loaded, Arvika was out of the question.

The Concert itself was amazing powerful, you could easily spot that not even half of the audience was especting that kind of sonic assult.

Swedish Radio recorded it for a program called P3 live. had it on tape for ages til it gave up. Only thing that really annoyed me was the DJ introducing the show and destrying some songs with his talk.

was browsing circles site the other day to see if he put up something new interesting. when I found a link to the very same performance without annoying DJ.

I am right now in heaven blasting my ears of, so if you get the chance go get this one, it's rocking amazing.

You missed an absolute treat - even the crap early "songs" (eg Trees Come Down, Laura etc sounded amazing 'live'.
Funny that I used to think that the only things about a Nephs gig that were inferior to the Sisters were Carl's mumbled vocals and the lack of inter-song banter ...
