Is lyrics of Red Skies Disappear and Fix(Craig Adams version)were written by Eldritch?

I know our dear marian appeared that song,but don't know for certain.

Red Skies Disappear would be Gary Marx.

Fix(original version) was indeed Craig Adams' lyrics.

Yes, if my memory serves me, Marian definitely appeared in that song. 'Marian, take my hand, lie beside me on the burning sand', or some such nonsense. Speaking of which, I think Adams did indeed 'write' the 'words' to the original Fix, although I don't know if they were intended to be the words, if you see what I mean. My impression was that he just laid something down to illustrate the vocal line, and that he was just singing something that sounded the right shape, and that it was never intended to form the actual lyrics. Unless anyone else has any more information on this?

Yes, that's so. I think someone actually mentioned from what book he's reading in another thread and I believe it was Crowley, the old kook. It should be here somewhere.

I thought it might be from Liber 335 "Adonis - An Allegory" by Crowley but it doesnt appaer to be - I'll have a better look through my Crowley stuff when I get a chance.

I thought it was a reading from the Necronomicon. Probably wrong though.

Yeah. To be honest it certainly doesnt sound typically Crowley - unless its been changed somewhat in the transcribing?

Looking at the Necronomicon I'm sure sure its from there either. Does sound like HP Lovecraft though.

It's from the book of ceremonial magic - the chapter on true black magc by AE Waite (1913)

This of course means that Crowley proabably had a hand in it too however......even though he's not the credited author.

Do you have the book? I'd like to see the correct version. I think my transcription (in the other thread) isn't too far off the mark, apart from the words I was unsure of.

Here it is. The version on the record seems to be more of an adaption - the "directions" have been made to sound a bit more flowery and then added to the incantation. My guess is it's a dodgy 60s/70s rewrite.

"Whatsoever person be the object of this experiment, whether man or woman, it is needful in making it to observe the proper day and hour. Note further that it is performed by means of an image of wax or other suitable matter. Before composing it, say the following words over the wax: NOGA, JES, ASTROPOLIM, ASMO, COCCAV, BERMONA, TENTATOR, SOIGNATOR--I conjure you, ministers of love and incontinence, by Him who hath condemned you to hell! Dont like the sound of "ministers of love and incontinence" though!
