Im a merry thougts fan and I want to make a COMPLETE song list,
with really every song they ever recorded or performed.
Could anyone help me here?
The list should include: unreleased songs, all covers they played live
(for example they performed a cover of iggy pops bang bang,
even songs played just at soundchecks.

I seem to recall a story someone once told on here about saying (to Marvin Arkham of TMT) something along the lines of "thanks for picking up where Eldritch left off", and Mr Arkham storming off in a huff.

Andy TG in his comments under his pic with MA in the Members Gallery.

I've no idea how I remember these things :P or even how to link it.

LMAO! Someone who's chosen the nom-de-plume of Arkham has no right to be offended by such a remark!

you have a valid point there . and if you are going tochange your name to Arkham it's usually to avoid such names as Marvin.

They got a drum machine
They called their second EP Second Generation
They ripped off the TSOM sound ...badly
They played WGT and WGW ...
And on the Wikipedia page @EMWK linked to, they claim that they aren't goth

 Has anyone ever met the guy from Merciful Nuns/Garden of Delight ??

Not me. As far as I know, it's rather difficult to get in touch (personally) with Artaud (the guy behind GOD / Merciful Nuns), at least this was the case some years ago ...

I really like The Merry Thoughts

I don't have a full track listing though. Apart from the two albums and the two EPs all I know of is :-

Necropolis
Wires Hum
Success
Station To Station

and these I have picked up from YouTube.

There is also a badly recorded live version of Dance With Me

The only full bootleg I've come across is Merry Lumpen from 31 Jan 1992

That would make him Marvin the Paranoid Arkham then, wouldn't it?

I would start at Discogs.
That'll give you all the released stuff including odds & ends on compilations.

Then head on over to DCR where there is a recording.

Then head on to Ohzoon where there a couple of recordings.

I did also look on setlist fm but some setlists are missing.

It's a Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference  (Marvin the Paranoid Android... even though he was a robot, not an android. Brain the size of a planet, still mis-labelled)

I know very well who Marvin is. As to how it relates to my earlier remark, I'm still puzzled, unless my "no right to be offended by such a remark" is an unintentional Douglas Adams quote?

Presumably the reference was to either :-

a) Arkham being paranoid about the constant Sisters references

b) Some connection to the asylum in Gotham - I can understand the paranoia link but not as to why he shouldn't go off in a huff

c) Marvin Arkham is just a daft name to choose

Ah sorry, got our wires crossed there.

(and from million voices' options I'm going with a) and c))

I'll go with option a)

However, Marvin must have known this as some / most songs by TMT are clearly influenced by the Sisters

a) seems reasonable. He made his bed, he gotta lie in it.

They were okay. Nice mastering on their first record - better sounding than Rosetta's. Song writing wasn't great though.

...Lines like "My sirens wail" don't exactly help his cause.
