Those of you who remember Black Dahlia...
She lives round these parts and I've had the pleasure of meeting here. She's lovely.
At the end of last week she was in a serious RTA and was rushed to Addenbrookes (hospital with head injury specialism for the non locals). Her husband has been posting on her page to update us. She has multiple fractures that need operating on, but the head injury seems not to be as serious as feared. There's possible eye injury issue to be assessed.
She has been stable and conscious, and been able to eat, so all signs good.

She hasn't been in these parts for a long time, but she was one of us.

Oh cr@p :(

Not good, but sounds like she's in exactly the right place where they know what they're doing.
Vibe-o-matic pointing directly in your direction & pass on best wishes & much strength.

She still IS one of us.

Thanks for the post Jo.

Umm... I was around on HL (in a different guise) when Kate was about. We had the occasional banter but never really got to know each other.

Until 7/7 (London bombings). We were the only two HLers in town that day. She was in Aldgate and I was in Hatton Garden. When all the communications were cut, the only thing that still seemed to work was HL. So we struck up a friendship in the face of adversity. Lots of messages exchanged in PMland, because quite frankly, we were both very scared. And that was the beginning.

When I moved to Germany a year later she kept in touch. When I was going through my homesick period she was always there for me. I seem to remember she was working at Channel Four at the time (who were producing 4Music) and occasionally promo DVDs of my favourite bands who appeared on the program, may, or may not, have appeared on my doorstep via postie slighty afterwards. Allegedly.

But we live in a transient world. People come, people go. But we never forget true friends. And I'm sure Jo won't mind me saying this; me and her lost contact for over five years but now we're the same bickering couple we were before. We just picked up where we left off.

I'm very pleased that Kate's prognosis is positive. She's one of the good girls in life and a Top Lady. Hopefully we'll see her back soon as she will always be one of us.

Positive vibes from Germany.

I must decloak for this

She was my friend back when it was fun. I'm scared for her and hope she gets through this. Having spent 2 months in the hospital last year I can attest to the nurses' exceptional care and the doctors' brilliance.

Jo, please let her know Jimmy B sends his best, seriously. :|

Likewise I didn't know her but I do recall her name from years back. I'll echo Lee: "one of us is one of us" and send lots of good wishes.

Just seen this post :( I don't think I've met Black Dahlia but I remember the name well. I hope she's doing OK and makes a good recovery.

i'm back off my hols and done a round up.
BD is still in Addenbrookes for the time being, though there was talk of her coming back to the Norfolk and Norwich soon. She's had an op on her shoulders, is off drips, in a neck brace, but allowed to sit up slightly. I'm not sure how much more there is broken.
