Am intrigued to know what people here think of the new cover version unveiled at Suikerrock last Saturday.

I love the way that has always rung the changes with the covers, and never goes for the obvious.

Its an OK song but if the band are restricted to a one hour set would I rather hear Police Car or Kiss The Carpet? No brainer.

I do enjoy it when a band tosses a "curve ball" out there, but in all honesty, if they have time to rehearse this, then they surely have time to rehearse something new & self written.
But I suppose, with a festival crowd, dropping a new song in prolly isn't going to be the best move. An old chestnut would have been better & at least Body Electric got another airing.

It's great, and it really suits the Sisters' sensibility, although a different side of it with the pub rock angle. I hope they can hone the instrumental balance a bit to bring the guitars forward (although maybe the muted instrumental part is an artifact of the recording, I don't know). And I love Von's singing on this.

I've only watched it once, enjoyed the vocals but at points the guitar work could be politely described ad " unrehearsed " and less politely as " all over the place "

not the most amazing song but always good to hear something new in the set

Yes, strange to hear them doing something as "straight", albeit with a bit of added AOR from Ben. Perhaps it will end up in a medley with WYDSM.

I didn’t know this song but having listened to the original version I really like the Sisters cover… especially Von’s voice.

That’s how the world is so colorful, people have different tastes and opinions. There is no problem about that.

... ... I love it. The song is a great choice for a cover and fully within tradition ... ... in fact, one of the highlights of the gig.

Bang, bang might be the keyword here anyway ... multiple layers ... ...

I'm fully in the indifferent camp. It's better to burn out than fade away, someone once said. Definitely applies to rock bands, I think.

Good idea, done badly. Vocals are ok but its another middle of the road chugger. Hopefully a one-off for the summer.

Anyone remember "Far Parade"? I loved it when they previewed the lyrics online and we all got excited. Still (no pun intended) 'X' years waiting...

Yes, I'm also disappointed with lack of new material (by which we nowadays mean just one new song live with lyrics published 6 years ago, not an album), but given what we still can expect, namely a new cover now and then, I prefer these cover surprises instead of no surprises at all. So, given my low expectations, it was quite a good surprise. Even if I can imagine my non-Sisters-friends laughing at my lame excuse

It feels like Von has totally lost all interest in the Sisters since at least 5 years, but I can still enjoy it and look forward to october. I wouldn't rule out he digs in the archives and picks, maybe..Heartland?

Oh, the song...I think Police Car is rather good, not as good as Gift that shines but better than Misirlou. But rather good is not an alternative here, so..

Original it's not brilliant song, as mentioned above, more AOR/pub rock, with not so much energy, of course at least to me, but it has potential as live song. Yet, TSOM proved one again that competent to ruin anything that want. On the other hand, it's something new in the set list, but it didn't make me shiver as their other gift for Waffleland - Rain from heaven. So, in answear to question, i'm indiferent, as I care less and less about this band (just like AE seems to care less and less).
But thanks to TSOM, it brought me to Pink Fairies, and that's whole different story.

That never surfaced again did it?

They soundchecked something still not heard before the Budapest gig in 2006 too - only the sequenced parts, no guitars or vocals..

Arms started as a soundcheck on that US tour, was there another one as well? I also have a fuzzy memory of that and as mentioned another(?) one soundchecked in 2006. There was a quite recent thread this year with a link to such a soundcheck(?), a thread about fake new songs or something.
