And there is a slight Sisters connection.
I read an interview with Von someplace a long time ago (have no idea where, my memories don't last for years) that when the Sisters played San Francisco, they stayed at the Triton Hotel (http://www.hoteltriton.com/). The hotel kindly put
in the Jerry Garcia suite. Don't think he is a fan. I seem to remember something about Andy turning the photo of Garcia to the wall (or ground).
