Has just launched
The ‘Mortality Tour and Album’ is the new Pledge from the March Violets. Throughout October pledgers get to experience a month of touring around the East Coast, with Backstage Action, Road Movie high jinx and other Purple nonsense. The Violets will be playing classic tracks live, then recording them in November in Chicago. With exclusive daily footage and a virtual Access Pass pledgers will be able to participate in the highs and lows of the entire Tour and Studio Saga. The involvement continues right up to Xmas, with an Advent Calendar with interesting Violet goodies behind each door, culminating in the Album download on Xmas day!
Physical ‘exclusives’, that will be shipped after Xmas, include a Double CD, a Vinyl LP and a double DVD with a full concert, a road movie, and footage from the entire life of the band, right back to the early Eighties. It’s a new way of touring that DOES come to your home town, social media at its rocking best. Support the Violets, Pledge Purple! Many Thanks.

Interesting idea. Normally it was about co-founding recording of studio album, but now it's about super duper tour. Swans used live albums to cover studio expenses for recoding new album, which is nice idea, but MV idea goes slightly backward. However, recording of live album (with DVD) it's nothing new - Electrix six did same thing last or two years ago.
Anyhow, they reached 35%, so it's looks promising, but I wish them all the Best.
Go Si!

From the intro video this looks to be a mish mash of old stuff re-recorded, new stuff, unreleased stuff and live stuff.
TBH I had no idea they were doing another Stateside tour.

Strange, strange. But as long as people are willing to spend their money on that it's ok. But it become sorta new way of making music - bands with history seems to loose inspiration for writing any new stuff, new album, EP, what some of them are doing is re-recording, recording cover albums (like Danzig), use some old idea, thrown away 20 or 30 years ago (like Wire).
And only wacko Morrissey has/had balls to say I'm not moving forward until I move forward.

Lovely ... :D ... I'm still undecided between the double CD and the DVD.. I can't afford both and there is no combi-pack except the expensive one with shirt vinyl and everything ... *sigh... ...

All the best wishes from here, Si !!!

I know Si is ill and I'm up on Violets news in a general sense. However, I was wondering if anyone has any news about when or whether the Mortality project will be released. Will LPs ever be pressed and shipped?

I hate to sound mercenary but I am just curious.
