Going to be an interesting week this one with the following teams all having the weekend off from the premier league:

Arsenal
Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Everton
Liverpool
Man Utd
Sunderland
Watford
West Brom
West Ham Utd

Not a week to play your bench boost then

I think the site waited on the outcome of the cup replay before it updated the postponement.
Was sort of expecting Hull to lose so avoided loading up with Gunners & Baggies just in case :)

Yeah.
You almost need a Man UTD game just to take the edge off.
:innocent:

we just need sunderland, newcastle and villa to lose more than us. villa are a lost cause already. we're playing all 3 of them soon.
patrick bamford looks a bit useful. nearly snapped the crossbar!

Not just a blue nose

I later learnt that this bloke is a guy called Speedo Mick who does this to raise money for charity :)
There was a lady in a pitch-side seat with a blue nose thing on. I should have snapped her too. She had the most serious expression & this comedy blue nose.

I hope Leicester do it too.
They've proved that you don't need to go & spend hundreds of millions on players seemingly made of bone china to actually be a force to be reckoned with.
I hope this season isn't a one off too, but the summer is going to see a lot of big clubs sniffing around & tempting players to big-money deals which would be a shame. I would love to see this Leicester team facing the Barcas & Bayerns of this world

LCFC is financially a very successful club and always has been. one of the reasons for this unfortunately is their willingness to sell for large amounts of money homegrown/previously unknown players who, having had their potential recognised and nurtured by the club have come to the attention of larger clubs. thats how its always been told to me by hardcore leicester supporters. Leicester have always been a force to be reckoned with in the 2nd tier of the national league....just that whenever they get to the top-flight they invariably come straight back down again. most popular explanation for this is as above.

so, yes it would be nice for them to capitalise on this years successes and not sell mahrez/vardy et al to the highest bidder. if they look like reinvesting the profits from this year into the team it might encourage those who are tempted to stay. i think the manager should have an incredible amount of influence over the board after the amazing job he's done but thats not always been the case in the past.

I hope you're right.
I think the prospect of Champions League footy will serve to keep the current squad relatively intact & I daresay Ranieri was in line with the owners' "vision" when he signed on the dotted line.
On top of that, the influx of TV cash should reduce the need to go flogging everyone & their dog too.
We shall see....

Another game week draws to the close and the question on the minds of everyone is NOT can anyone catch Leicester? But rather are EIB in the head to head league the footballing equivalent of Devon Loch (who??? - ask your grandfather)?

But we'll get to that later.

In the Classic League it finished:
IGM 600
EIB 558
+42 to IGM and the IGM lead is now 515 points

Image stays with FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 who stretched his lead by another 7 points to put him 21 points ahead of Meteora Heartland FC.

The Image goes to High Town FC for an outstanding score of 76 points. At the start of the game week he only had 8 starters but he didn't panic. Made just one transfer of Lukaku out / Keane in and gave him the captaincy. All 9 active players scored at least 5 points. WELL DONE.

In the head to head league it finished:

IGM 19
EIB 13

The EIB lead stands at just 12 points

The Image sits firmly on the head of Meteora Heartland FC. After a sound thrashing by High Town FC, FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 have dropped back to third. Deep Green Sea Utd is now the nearest challenger to the top.

It'll be nice to get back to having a full squad to choose from this week.

Good luck everyone :D
