Susanne web video audio

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

More of a technical question really, following after the mp3 discussion in the trading section. I want to include the audio on a compilation CD and was wondering which would be the best quality, the 256kb mp3 or ripping the audio straight from the video clip as a wav file. Truth is, I can't actually tell any difference but I'm open to guidance :?

At least it's good to hear his voice on a 'new' recording, especially as he hasn't even sung on any of the demos / bits and pieces they're currently (not) working (very hard) on in case they get stolen...

The best way to keep your audio quality is: take from the source whenever you can, and do it in WAV-format.
No matter what peeps tell you about MP3 (even 256 kb), there's always data loss due to compression. Most people don't mind (or even cannot hear the difference), but when you compare the WAV and MP3 on a semi-pro installation, you see and hear the differences.

My two cents,

IZZY.

Cheers Izzy! I'll go with ripping the audio as a wav file. It may have been compressed to accompany the video clip anyway, but I guess it's worth trying!

Hi Michael!

While we're organising the mirroring business, here's an mp3 of the soundtrack to that clip of We Are The Same, Susanne as a 128k-bitrate file, (4Mb) or a 256k-bitrate file, (8Mb). Even these audio files could be taken offline for a few hours whenever we need to get our mail.
:von: 's done it for you!

Hi Si!

Cheers! I had the mp3s but I was just wondering if ripping the audio straight from the video would give a 'bigger' sound. To which the answer is, I still can't really tell any difference. Which means I've been sat messing around on the computer achieving nothing very much. Not like me that...
