I'm in the process of writing a very long article covering the recording and mixing history of First And Last And Always. I've got a timeline laid out, interviewed engineers, seen the masters, seen recording diaries. The only thing I'm missing is the date and location for Blood Money and Bury Me Deep. I know when Bury Me Deep was mixed (I even know what time of day it was mixed) but I don't know when/where it was recorded. Likewise, I have no recording or mixing information for Blood Money.
Bury Me Deep was mixed on Jan 10/11 1985 in London (two days for one song!). I assume that, had the band already recorded Blood Money, Eldritch would have bought the multis with him to London and they would have mixed it together with Bury Me Deep. As this wasn't the case, and the engineer had never heard of Blood Money until I played it to him, I'm leaning towards a late January 1985 recording and mixing session for Blood Money, keeping in mind the 1 March release date of the No Time To Cry single. Strawberry Studios is the likeliest contender at the moment.
The Spiral Scratch, "Serpents Kiss!", article from 1989 that the Wikipedia entry is mostly based on gets the facts wrong after August 1985 so I'm reluctant to trust it. The two songs in question were definitely not recorded when/where it says they were.
If anyone has any primary sources or evidence for the recording dates of these tracks I would be most grateful!
