Pah, not that I had ever liked any of his music, but his public standing against Sony was definitely remarkable ...

There must have been a very large scythe swinging this year ... :( ... 53, that is no age at all ... :( ...

May he rest in peace, and peace as well to his friends and family ... :( ...

My first gig was Wham! They always made me smile and want to dance.

Never really rated him and he and his pal totally ruined a holiday I had in Ibiza in 1985 but , and there is always a but, a friend posted this on facebook, I dont agree with all of it but there was another side of the man worth recognising.

"Aye he was a decent human being . Sad to see this young man pass. I admired him, fancied him, danced round my handbag to his music. He hated Thatcher; he supported miners strikes, he opposed invasion of Iraq. He was open about mental health illness and was openly gay when it was tough to be that free. RIP son x"

He was also a bit of an outlaw IIRC

Been reading about things he did, like working at a homeless centre, giving money to people, keeping one charity going and doing a gig for nurses where his mother was treated.
