Happy 15th birthday, Heartland! The fact that this place is still here after all these years is a testament to the caliber of the folks who grace its virtual halls. I'm SO thankful to know you lot! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: ;D

Here's to another 15 (with or without The Girls)! :innocent:

No Heartland = No Marching Men.

How's your conscience, now?

Always liked this place! :) Despite the occasional thread meltdown Heartland is far more civilised than Facebook and the like. :D Long may it last!

Hl is struggling, mainly because there are so many other groups out there at present. Shame really there seems not much life on here anymore? Is this the last encore?!

We do tend to be quite popular in the Middle East tour industry for some reason

I actually prefer Heartland for discussion over Facebook. Plus, major nostalgia!

Seems like the moderators are not really very interested anymore? Be more interesting if AE posted on here and told us to "Shut the f**k up"

On the contrary, MarkFiend is still prowling about and wields the Hammer of Authority(tm).

Yep. Been there, done that, done with it. I prefer the less-traveled places, now. Much cozier.

I love that ongoing moaning on facebook. Yes, i do know that by using this i'm just target for ads, as i'm in general almost everytime when i use interweb. yes, i do know, they're working hand in hand with CIA/FBI/NSA.

We are the one who choose what we see on facebook (control over posts of your "friends", as well as "liked" pages/profiles), we choose who is and can be our "friend" on FB, more, we choose if we want to see posts of our friends. No one push us to join game of: i've been/i am there, i ate/eat this, i was/i'm at this movie/gig and, so, and so - it's all in our heads.
FB is still nice tool to be in touch with some of our real friends who live x miles away.

If we're in confessional mode then I too have been known to attend Mish concerts and have bought most of their albums. I've even had a few drinks with a certain guitarist lol.

We may have had arguments over t'Mish (hem hem) but without them, I might not have got into the Sisters when I did.

And that guitarist is a very personable chap.

I'm just waiting for someone to organise a Floodland Tour of Jordan - "Come, effendi - hold this sword stick and stand over there, i will take a photograph of you and you can pretend like you are Eldritch. Oh yes, I met him - very tall man, magnificent in his stature. And Miss Morrison, very beautiful, very glamorous, but also very gracious. My brother in law, Ali, he asked her to open Jordan's first branch of Gregg's, and she agreed, even spent the whole say with him tasting the food. Very nice lady."
