Who created them originally?

I can provide free hosting if they want to move them somewhere else.

Andrius Sytas - the chap from Lithuania IIRC. I last saw him at Pukkelpop 2001.

No idea who the db was :/

Great time capsules though, be a shame if they're gone forever.

If anyone is still in touch with the folks who created any those tsom.org sites, I'd love to hear from them.

I'm happy to help however I can - whether that's re-home one or all of them, or whatever.

Looks like "1959 and all that" has gone too :(

Be such a shame to see those archives lost forever.

I'd be happy to contribute for server space ( if that makes sense) or whatever to maintain these, or bring them under this myheartland umbrella.

Clearly I have no idea, but will help if I can.

No one has contacted me.

In fairness, I haven't actually reached out to anyone involved with the sites yet - I'm not even sure I'd know where to ask.

Maybe I'll start another flamewar on Dominion by emaiing there in not quite the right email format for some of the older denizens, who still rigidly insist on a mid-90s version of "netiquette" (like, who even calls it that anymore ) 🤦‍♂️

So what IS the deal with Dominion? I’ve lurked on that......system(?) for years. Like I did on MH before finally joining. I get sporadic emails from them and recently Marge (I take she’s the boss?) had a go at someone for some email etiquette infraction. I couldn’t make sense of it. What’s up with those people?

Where to start... where to start!

The kind of thing you witnessed was main reason I set up HL - and that was almost 20 years ago.

Ahh the good old days of the Dominion list. I remember an American chap (Ben Flores?) caused a hell of a stink, as did another colourful chap using the handle "Mutiny In Heaven"... and there was our Vanessa!
A huge flame war in late 2001 (which may have involved some of the above) caused -bat to shut the whole thing down over Christmas. Heartland was launched in early 2002. :notworthy: The rest is history.

Wow that’s a long time man. Quite impressive indeed

It s funny, mailing lists are just so...old fashioned...amazed that it is even still around. Especially considering the agro

Anyway what you’ve build at Heartland, with all the admins and contributors it’s quite something. It’s the first place I look at when I wake up and get my tea, and the last place I check into before bed. Sorry as the other Sisters ‘outlets’ around the web fade away MH stands strong. Cheers

Oh jeez, from my aging viewpoint, Dominion was the home for the terminally obsessed, so being a hippy liberal (in the days before liberal views became the worst crime in this Trumpian world) I totally ignored them. As I said to an adorable friend, f**k art let's dance x
