Hi all.

I am currently researching a book on the bands, fanzines and events surrounding the UK underground goth scene of the late 80s through to the late 90s, when the scene for all intense purposes died, or just relocated to Whitby. What I seek is info on the bands.

Where you in a band?
Did you do fanzine?
Put on gigs?

I have over 200 bands listed up so far. No made up ones please.
I am in the process of setting up a Facebook group for people to contribute to. Did I remember correctly that our erstwhile leader was once in a band?
Cheers all and hope you can help.

Matt..

Any alternative to farcebook?
I was in a band in Worthing. The name was Calling God (circa 87). I'll have a hunt for some photos later if you need them.
There are a couple of tracks on my soundcloud page

True Dominique & a cover of New Dawn Fades

There was also a couple of other local bands that would fit your project.
Torture Garden - I have a couple of old videos knocking about somewhere.
The Last Cry - My band supported them a couple of times in Hove. The pub was The Cliftonville in Hove IIRC
Black October. They were remarkably like the Chameleons.

These bands were all from West Sussex. Haywards Heath sort of area & Brighton.

Cheers Steve, I'll have a listen later. I know The Last Cry, but the other names are new.

No probs Matt.
I'll try to gather some thoughts & memories of the time & send them to you for your project should you need them.
I have The Last Cry's tape EP they recorded in the Old Pink Dog studio in Worthing & pics of the cover & liner notes too if they help.
Let me know the scope of what you're covering (club scene etc.) & what wasn't erased by pharmaceuticals I'll jot down
