If you lot on the ahem mainland would vote the Tories out I'd be really grateful. thanks Greg
PS And if our lot over here could teach our politicians a lesson it would also be very nice.

Very gloomy politically this morning. :(

I've voted on my way into work.

Not that it makes much difference; my (Labour) MP had a majority of nearly 11000 last time out. Still, every little helps.

Voted.
Again doubt it will make much difference here - live in a Tory safe seat :( but you gotta keep on trying!

I missed one once in the 90s when I was out of the country (and that was for the local council, nothing national).

Other than that I have voted in every election I could.

Voted. I'm in a Labour safe seat, but still, it doesn't pay to get complacent. Kick the tories in the nuts.

I've missed a couple of local elections years ago, but not missed anything in the last 15 or so years. I even voted when we were voting for the Police Inspector or something, I still haven't a clue what that was about.

That's actually not a bad idea. In the UK in recent times the results are always really close, like 52/48. That's really poor. If you take into account that a lot of people didn't vote at all it means that 30-ish percent of the country had the casting vote, and that's pisspoor. France's result was good: 66/34. I'm not sure we've ever had such a decisive result in the UK, not in recent times anyway.

I'd agree with a mandatory vote but would like to see an abstain option on the ballot paper as well.

Something like 59% of eligible US voters actually voted in November. We all know how well that turned out.
