Those comments scratched into the 'dead wax' ring on vinyl

Vinyl Sisters records had comments scratched into the 'dead wax' outro area near the label and center hole of the LP. One said 'Rise and Reverberate' and another said something about 'Spiggy the cat'. Who scratches that stuff onto the vinyl? Is it done automatically or by hand?

Usually the cutting engineer writes them manually onto the master. That would be transferred to the resulting stamp plates & so stamped into the production run

'A Porky Prime Cut' was one of the more famous ones on various vinyl back in the day. I think Morrissey was responsible for the Smiths ones that usually had quotes etc on them.

Porky scratched them. As far as I'm aware Von came up with them
