Any new interviews with the girls for 2017 - thought there might have been some to promote the tour

Not seen any yet.
I have a google alert set up for The Sisters Of Mercy to hopefully catch anything that might pop up. So far it's just fake streams of gigs that haven't even happened yet

If it's any kind of clue, Mark Andrews was at the second AB concert with a press badge. (He actually recognized me from social media and said hello, which I think amused us both.) He was sticking around as I was leaving, so maybe an interview in the works?

Becoming ever more delusional? "We have enough new songs for two or three new albums"!!!
Asked if he'll be playing SSV songs to mark the 20th anniversary (after all, he did promise something new), "Erm, no, probably not."

For those of us who are products of the American educational system, below is a translation, courtesy of google. I highlighted what i consider to be the most important tidbit in a large red font.
Andrew Eldritch, the last remaining original member of the Sisters Of Mercy, is often referred to as "Godfather Of Goth". On September 21, his band will be in the Vienna Gasometer. In the interview, the musician talked about the upcoming tour and new songs.
At the end of September, the Sisters Of Mercy band in the Vienna Gasometer. "There will also be stage fog," promised band member Andrew Eldritch. Smoke swings and stroboscope light seem to be indispensable essences of a show of Sisters Of Mercy.
"Sometimes it takes the circumstances to use a little less fog," says Eldritch. "But we will make the upcoming concerts interesting. The next question is certainly what we are playing at the concerts. I don't know. We must meet first to discuss the tour."
Sisters Of Mercy: No album released since 1990
When it comes to Sisters Of Mercy, it is always about the Enigma that the band has released since 1990 no new album. In the past, Eldritch spoke of plans in the past when he gave interviews at all. "They gave and are there," stressed the 58-year-old. "I really think more about a new record. But for whatever reason, it remains with reflection. But I really do. We have enough new songs for two or three new albums."
New material is presented instead at concerts of the band. "Most of the time it works pretty well," said Eldritch. "We publish the texts on our website so that people know what I am singing about. I hope at least ... Outside of England, the people generally attach more importance to the song lyrics. I think because you have to think harder about what the words mean when it is not the mother tongue. People like this exercise."
For 25 years out of the entertainment industry
Looking at the history of the Sisters Of Mercy, this mode is operandi to present unknown songs live, not at all. "So we started," Eldritch said. "Then we were pulled into the music industry - with record companies and all the nonsense. Then we came to the conclusion that we can be successful and happy without all the nonsense. "We do not want to keep up with the rules of the entertainment industry:" We have not done this for 25 years. Because we do not have to."
But how does the musician consider his legacy on phonograms? "I listen to the albums every five years. I like two of them very much. They are really good, "says Eldritch. "The snare drum is a bit too noisy, but that was called back then. No matter what you got the record companies, there was always someone in a leadership position who thought to know how to make the songs even better - presumably as a justification for the existence of the record company. Then it always said: 'Makes the snare drum louder!'"
Band strike in the 90s
For seven years the band "struck" in the nineties, as Eldritch told. "It was only then that we escaped the record company." To complete the contract, he had founded the project SSV-NSMABAAOTWMODAACOTIATW and delivered an album with bad recordings. It's 20 years. Despite this jubilee, there will be little to be heard of the coming tour: "Um, no, probably not."
Back to the "Godfather Of Goth": The image of the Sisters Of Mercy does not seem to matter to Andrew Eldritch. In his last appearance in Vienna, he looked more like a hip-hop than a Darkwave dark-haired man in a white hoodie. "Financially, it is very good to have an image," said Eldtrich. "But it does not reflect how we see ourselves. I do not think I'll ever go on stage in short pants."
Brexit is "a very long Autounfall"
And, last but not least, when talking to an English musician who spends a lot of time abroad, the question is about the brexit in the room. Has Great Britain done anything good with it? "No! This is a very long car accident. I voted to stay in the EU. Everyone I know has done that. The whole band, all the people I've got to deal with, have voted for their whereabouts. We all agree that the brexit is a disaster."[/b]

No press badge on me in the AB, although I was hanging around. Nor anything forthcoming from me, so no breath should be held. Maybe next year, I'll try writing something else on The Sisters. No clue what yet ......Way back in the year, The Sisters' camp gave out the message that Andrew was doing no tour promo. That's one reason he's not in my last tQ piece. Fortuitously, since Gary and Craig had plenty of space to have their say. However Andrew seems to have made an exception has been made for German-speakers ...

If there is one band that need the drums turning up at gigs it's the Sisters.

Well...
Come Together, the Leeds Underground album from '94...
The '97-'98 Pearson/Varjak album.
Still, Arms, Far Parade, etc.
in 2016 -
The last time I decided definitively that a song was finished and untouchable was 2010.
in 2010 -
We don't yet have enough of a whole series of new songs that we three [Eldritch, Catalyst and Christo] have written together to make [an LP] a brilliant idea. There are single tracks we could release, but I think we'd rather wait until there was a half a dozen, six here, six there.
in 2016 -
I’ve written a lot since then, but I’m still tinkering with them. I like to tinker.
in 2010 -
It costs not so much money these days, but time, to make a good record.
To me, his comments over the years read like he's making music on his own time and is just having a ball without everything that comes with selling that work to the public. He's become an alternative JD Salinger, hosting Catcher readings to provide his lifestyle. It's alright.

Must have been wishful thinking to see a press badge, then, sorry!
I have the same attitude about further interviews as I do about new albums and new shows... More would be fabulous, but what we have is enough to keep me happy..

no, 2010 is 7
years ago (and anyway it was 2009) so arms isn't the "only new song" because arms isn't
new...we havent
heard any new songs have we? so we don't know how many new songs there are, do we? no, we don't.
please, i know the only interest you have in the subject is in the misguided and faintly ridiculous hope that somehow something you say might upset one or all of us but if you must join in , do please
try and keep up.

look at how FALAA was written. Mark and Wayne presented completely finished structured and arranged songs -either with or without guide vocals- to eldritch who then fitted them with lyrics he had no doubt already written. i daresay
"....we have enough new songs for two or three new albums.."
is probably true. that doesnt mean that the songs are
complete necessarily, after all -whats the urgency? they're
not going to record a new album; and apart from the dedicated and fanatical (us lot etc) most sisters audiences are still unfamiliar with the old -ie unreleased- new songs!
